hey i got quick question about patching up a spot of clear that seems to be chipping off. (its a small spot above my rear window) i need something to put on it/over it to stop it from spreading any ideas? its

Peel back the molding carefully (do not force or you may break the seal around the window) then sand with 500 grit sanding paper in the imediate area. get off all the loose clear and paint. if you dont it will continue.
then lightly spray on your clear (color if needed first) allowing plenty of time drying between coats ***do not spray all the way to you tape line if your taping off the paint you will have an unremovable unsightly line and then peeling. 3 coats is usually good (light coats) then 1500grit wetsand the area at least 1 foot beyond the sprayed area until smooth (use a semi soft foam block so you dont cut into the paint)
then buff out the entire panel (take you time and it will look as good as new)


------PS MACO sux, no paintjob that costs 39.95 and takes 20min is worth the painfull pointing and laughing-------

awesome help unfourtantly, my dad pointed out, im going to have to wait until the weather warms up , im not as lucky as my friends with a heated garage(which they use to store junk....grr not cars) lol
i have some extra red paint from when it was painted and some clear. thanks !
