The lesson for the day.... dont wash your car when its cold outside. my G.F washed her car, drove it home and couldint get out. ROFLMAO. The doors froze shut and she couldint get out. She ended up driving to my work so she could drive in to a bay and let the car thaw out.... we dryed the door jams and she got home fine.

I went through a carwash the other day when the wind chill was in the negatives. I had some ice left on my car but just thin lines. I got most of the water off b4 it could freeze by getting on the freeway.

I am terribly sorry ... but ... you sure this should not have been posted in the Joke Section ... I realize it probably wasn't funny at the time; however, it is REALLY FUNNY now!!!

You guys are too funny :D

I personally NEVER wash my car when it's lower than -10C out. It's really not good for the seals to get frozen like that.

Besides, road salt loses all it's corrosive effects below -10C so it's not harming anything to leave it on. I wash it first thing when it gets warmer again though :)

thank god its finally warming up a bit here in the great white north.. and literally right now it is very white! my best advice.. never wash your car when its below -7 or 8 C or else you can start running into problems.. my most annoying is that my driver side window doesnt roll down so i go through the drive through and have to look like a dork when i order something with my door open!

I washed, waxed, and polished my car today.

Temperatures got into the low to mid 50's around noon, and it was sunny out.

Today marks the first day I was comfortably able to drive around with all the windows down and the sunroof open.

Mmmm... pure bliss.

At our car wash in NJ we have these 2 Mexicans with no green cards that dry the cars after you go thru the wash. That way nothing freezes and water doesnt dry and give ya water spots. They got rid of the really hot girl with jewels of perfection...but I consider that the mexicans are cheaper. Needless to say I only go thru their when its freezing cold, otherwise I do it myself.
