Wanting to buy rims...but should I buy online?

Howdy all. I've been to tirerack.com and I really like how they have their site setup. It's nice being able to see a set of rims and how they would look on my car. I have a few questions though...

Does anyone know any other sites that would be good to buy rims from?

What is the difference between "painted & chrome"? I've heard chrome is better, but wanted everyone's opinions :)

Would you buy rims online? (I have purchased many other types of items online, but wasn't sure if anyone had any horror stories about rims online...
