I don't know about your plug thing, I always stick with a/c delco when I'm working on plugs/wires/coil packs on GM cars. Just make sure anything you get plug wire wise doesn't have the word SUPRESSION written on it (the wire itself). If you get stock replacement parts its very easy to do it one by one since the wires are lenth specific. Just get the coil pack housing off, and use an elbow to get at your 3 rear plugs. a/c delco platnium sparkplugs are where its at...

2nd the ac delco platinum or rapidfires.
about the 8cyl plug wire kit; i guess you could use it if the wire lengths were right, but why not just get a set made for your engine? autozone/advance/napa/oreilly etc should have an 8mm set.. 8.8mm vs. 8mm isn't going to make enough difference (if any at all) IMO to spend the extra cash or deal with the wrong lengths etc. they are your clams in the end though so do what you want with them.
just replace one wire at a time so you don't cross-wire anything; the front three are cake, the back three are easier with the coil pack off; i don't use an elbow just a 6" extension; if you are still having clearance problems getting to the back three, support the engine with a block of wood and a jack, loosen the top motor mount and the engine will rock forward 4-6" on the lower mount, giving you more room. the back 3 area PITA sure but after you've done them once or twice you should be able to change them in just a few minutes with the coil pack set out of the way.
