Well what do you think would look better 17s or 18s on a 96-98 GA that is lowered. Are 17s small or 18s to big?

I was in the same vote as you, but I really think the 18's would look better.

well here the thing a bigger rim would look better but if you get 18s your gonna be pretty close to ricer tires, so the question is more how you like your tires to look.

17's if you wanna keep the weight down, 18's if you dont mind the extra weight, but if you add any power it wouldn't really matter .

Since you're lowered, I voted 17"s. I see too many lowered cars with too big of rims that offset the lowered look. If you get the wrong size rim, you can actually make it looked lifted. I think a 17" tucked closer to the fender is sharper then a 18" that might look truckish.

I am having a tuff time. I thinking 18s myself, but im not sure. The wieght isnt, but is a factor i can always take them off when i got to the track, but when they are on the car will be slower. I like the look of a bigger rim with a smaller tire so thats why i think 18s, but im worried if i get 18s i might rub, or with a skinny tire i might bend the rim easier on potholes. And then i think, as nice as the car would look with rims, i should just get some head work and cams........ hmmmm i dont know what to do.

you wont rub. Ive got 18's on mine and Im lowered with Sprint lowering springs,2inch drop all around. Get the 225/40/18 tires if you get 18's you will NOT rub. You will notice a difference in ride quality but I never did due to the fact I was lowered way before I got wheels so I didn't notice the difference.

heres a close up of the front wheel. 225/40/18 series. Still has a decent sidewall. Just have to do your best to avoid potholes when possible.....
