Its happening more frequent...When im at a red light the normal idle is around 550 rpms..every now and then it drops about to about 350 rpms for a second and the car feels like its gonna stall, then it goes back up to 550
anyone know what could be going on?

Sounds like something is messing with the fuel air mixture. I would check the IACV in the throttle body. make sure it is clean and where it pushes back in the throttle body is clean.
When was the last time the air filter was changed?
If you look at it, pull it out, the top can look new while the bottom is thick.

this is a fairly recent problem...i replaced the stock air box with an AEM intake about a month or so ago.

Check all the vac hoses, including the Brake Booster (since your foot is on the brake when this happens).
Did the AEM intake require removal/reinstallation of engine sensors (Inlet Air Temp)?
If so, make sure the installation and connections are proper.
Even though your HVAC controls are probably in the heat/def mode, the AC compressor can cycle 'on' (as an automatic exercising of the compressor).
I don't know if this happens in your car or not as an automatic function.
But that would certainly drop the rpm's until the Idle Air Control responds.
Hope this helps.

which hoses should i check...im not too sure where they might be.
the problem is getting pretty bad...my friend said that i need my codes read ($100 to get that done) which really sucks...i just wanna rule out everything else before i bring it in.

This has just started to happen to me too. When I am stopped and sometimes when I have the car in park the idle drops down. Lately it seems like it is going to stall but it doesn't. I have all the stock intake parts, and I changed my filter about a month ago. Do you think it has something to do with the fact my car has almost 100000 miles on her?

I did mine this summer, and everything went fine.

I got my car in Arpil from a dealership with 58,000 miles, it now has about 68,000..i have no clue when the plugs were changed last, but it seems like that shouldnt be the source of the problem..according to 00silverGA
