I recently had the water pump changed in my 1999 Grand Am SE 2.4L I4. At the same time I changed the timing chain and timing chain tensioner using a Haynes repair book. Now, there is something weird happenning. When the engine is cold it runs perfectly, no noises no shaking or hesitation. But, once the engine warms up (after 10-15 mins) you could hear a knocking noise coming from the tensioner area. I made sure the timing was set ok, I bleeded the tensioner twice, had oil changed, etc. From what I could see the tensioner is allright while the engine is cold, but once the oil warms up it looses tension (like the oil gets thiner with the heat) and starts making that noise. Please let me know if you have any ideas in what's going on with this engine. Thank you!!!!!:???:
