After several months of finding water in my car, I tried to wash my car today. After I sprayed my roof off, I opened my driverside door and found a lot of water inside.

The water had dripped down the door by the fuse panel cover, then onto the floor. When I looked up, I noticed that water was dripping down my a-pillar into the fuse block.

I pulled the a-pillar off (Lotek A-pillar) and found that the water was coming from the windshield, about 3 inches away from the upper corner. I cannot get to it to seal it, so it is going into the dealer Monday to get it fixed.

I have read threads before about people having water leaking into the interior and not knowing where it is coming from. So look at the area around the fuse block area and if it is wet, pull the fuse block cover off and if it is wet in there, then you have a windshield leak.

Hope this helps anybody that still has water leaking into the car and cannot find it.

TSB # 01-08-57-007A General Water Leak Diagnostic Guide (http://aleroupgrades.com/water_leaks.htm) With as many things that can leak on these cars (15) you'd think they must have drilled a bunch of extra holes in the car to cause it. :P

I had the exact same problem on my 99 SE and it drove me nuts for about 4 months. Finally I had to have my windshield replaced and when they removed the windshield you could see where the water was getting in along the a-pillar on the driver's side. The seem that runs down the a-pillar is supposed to be sealed but it had huge voids where there was no sealant at all and this was where the water was coming in. It was the same on the passanger side. Must be a flaw from the factory as this was the original windshield. Filled in the gaps with silicon and it has been dry ever since. Oh ya did I mention that the water used to drip right onto the fuse panel and one time it fryied my power trunk relay almost setting the car a fire. If you have this problem I recommend getting it fixed ASAP.

I like that little list of conditions for leaks... unfortunately, they don't have my condition: holes in the firewall  Well, I guess that's what I get for gettin' a GA with a rebuilt title. :(

Yeah, I did a search last night and go the TSB for it. It is like our cars are full of holes!

I need to rewire my gauges and have the dealer check and see if the water damaged anything else. Some wires were corroded pretty bad. Thank goodness this will be covered under warranty!

Make sure the dealership rips out all the arpet and underpads to let it dry out before giving the car back to you or else you'll get mold growing.

Thank goodness this will be covered under warranty! Not under the GM factory warranty, so an 'Extended Warranty' of some kind, I presume.
With something like a $50 or $100 deductible?

Read the terms of your warranty VERRRY closely.
Whether it's the 'Basic', the 'Gold' level, or the 'Platinum' level, they all have a list of stuff that is NOT covered under that particular plan.

At the very least, they're likely to ask, "Why didn't you bring this in when you first noticed the leaking, rather than allow all this corrosion to occur?"
And the answer is, "I just noticed it for the first time when I was washing the car last weekend."

I wish you the best,
