I have recently noticed a clicking noise that seem to come from under the passenger side dash. It only does it when the car is in gear (drive and reverse). If I put it in park or nuetral the sound goes away. Need to know if theis is anything serious since I am very close to the end of my warrenty (as far as mileage).

If you are in Drive and not moving do you hear the click?

if you only hear it when moving. check the cv joints. When the rubber boot rips the grease flys out and they start clicking-making noise.

don't hear it when moving. It seems to only happen when I am stopped. If I rev it a little the clicking goes away, but then returns when it hits idle.

?? does it go away or does the sound of the motor over power it when you rev it a little ??

.......I Don't think I know what it is, but the answer to the above question may help others.

Turn signal switch is the most obvious answer, because it clicks.

Sorry.

I know its not the multi-function (already had that problem and had it fixed). Besides this is definitely not the sound of the relay clicking.

Does the heater fan on/off make a differance....maybe something slipped down to the fan??

But that would not stop with the rpms being raised.

What else clicks...........????????

Do you have a tac, thinking maybe the cable is catching a little, but then rasing the rpms move it fast enough to clear what ever it is catching on??

Not much else is moving at idle???

It might be, but wouldn't it then also do it when it is in park and nuetral?

I was getting some noise yesterday. Noticed it when I was parked in the driveway after I turned off the radio. Checked everyplace I could under the hood and could not pinpoint it. So I checked the oil. About 3/4 of a quart down. Filled to the top and the noise went away but not until today. Might be worth a shot.

had a chance to check the oil, its fine. I think I will take it in to the dealership and see what they say. hopefully its nothing to worry about.
