Door Panels

Im trying to fill in the red reflecter area on my door panels as well as some holes and such.

i need to know whats the best thing to use.

i dont know whats the door panels are made of.

It's like a vinyl cover...not sure what the best thing to use would be. I think that you would have to lay some fiberglass over the whole door panel or re-wrap the door in a different material covering that hole. Unfortunately there is a screw behind the reflector that holds the door panel somewhat to the door.

the door panels are off the doors and the vinyl is already removed. im thinkign fiberglassing the door but i dont know if its going to stick.

ive tried 5min epoxy and bondo and both cracked when flexed.

I don't recall what the door panels are made of, off-hand but it should be relatively easy to determine...

There should be the plasic code on the other side of the panel somewhere--it will say something like >PP< or >PC< or >ABS< or something like that; whatever the letter code says is the type of plastic it is.

It could be that the plastic code isn't printed on there but I'd imagine it should be. I'm sure fiberglass should work in any event... Are there plastics that fiberglass won't adhere to?

Ive seen a number of people use fiberglass on their door panels. It ought to hold up just fine. Itll take forever to cure this time of yr up here in the north, but if youve got a heated garage youll be ok.

im doing all the work in my attic. ima give it a try and post some pics when i get things done

cool, as long as the heats ok, itll be fine. Hopefully its nothing like my attic, which is about 20 degrees right now.

no my attic is nice and toasty. i just tried it on one door and im going to give it a flex test tomorrow
