so ive been trying to find out what the best method for repairing the front bumper on a 2003 GT is, and ive come to the conclusion that fiberglass=bad, but that there is urethane patch kits out there. a bmw tried gettin a free ride from my front bumper, the damage is minimal, and with the right product, it is well within my ability to fix. so any suggestions on where to get a kit or anything would be greatly appreciated. if i cant purchase it myself, i may look into paying a body shop to fix it. thanks ahead of time.

well the problem you are going to run into is that the front end is made of polyeurothane (sp?)... anything related to the word "glass" is 100% useless here (fiberglass, kitty hair, bondo... etc) what you need are eurothane products... something like maybe fusor or the like.
check with Joey_K as he seems to be pretty knowledgable about body repair

Here, check out my old threads from this summer. I had some bumper damage (airdam split in half pretty much). See if these help you, or give you a good place to start. :)

By the time that information was posted, I'd already found some Urethane 2 part epoxy. I believe I found it at Carquest. I also used mending brackets to keep things in place. Everything on my repair is still holding firm, and it's been 6-7 months I believe.
It'd be easier to help you out if we knew what kind of damage you have. If you can post pictures, it'd probably help your cause. :)

so bondo = bad?
I bought 2 bumpers already mostly shaved with bondo. Will this crack on its own or will it take some sort of impact? Would i be better off trying to get all the bondo out and doing it with a urethane product or will the bondo hold up ok?

Look for a epoxy like Fusor, or Kent chemweld EP.

so the bumper is fixed as far as "structural" i was in canadian tire, and i found a 2 part epoxy in the automotive section for "flexible plastics" so today i took the bumper off, heated and reshaped the damaged part, scuffed it, put the stuff on, and put the wire mesh that it came with, and so far it seems to be strong enough, now just to get some touch up paint and deal with the other side. when all is said and done the whole repair will be under $20. the 2 part epoxy was $10, and paint is $8 for a half size spray bomb.
