Well two weeks after my '00 GT was totaled out I've come across my new project - a 2003 Grand Am GT with the SC/T hood and spoiler. Only 34,000 miles - not too shabby, eh?? So $12,800 later here she is:

Lots of mod plans! I started the list yesterday and I'm still adding to it. The grand total so far on the mod list is about $1800, *lol* - I'll be working some killer overtime when I get back home in March to pay for it all.

Nah, thats how the SC/ts came from the factory IIRC.. I believe it was just the hood and the spoiler, and no lip kit like the concept had.

i have a quick question though. Ive always been confused with the models. I understand the SC/T was an appearance package pretty much, but whats different between a GT and GT1? or SE and SE1?

that is the way the sc/t comes from the dealership. you can order the rest of the body kit from www.pfyc.com well worth it, it makes the car look that much more aggressive.

Yeah, most def. wanting to get the body kit for it and dual post mirror are on the way as well, I CANNOT stand the round ones! As far as the SC, I'm still weighing pros and cons of getting one - if I decided I will, it probably won't be until summer at the earliest. I read somewhere (info could have been just rumored since it WAS online) that they actually had planned a while back to supercharge the 3.4 making it 262hp from the factory - anyone else know if there is truth to that?? I came across it the other night when I was looking up some info online. Well anyway, I'll post part of my "planned" mod list tonight, right now I gotta head out to work to avoid all this damn Atlanta traffic. ~ Laura

I wonder why the front lip on Jays car looks like its got another well.. lip on it where as yours does not.

it's because Jay has the rest of the sc/t package where as Laura doesn't as of yet, right Laura??? lol

The front lip is part of the SC/T body kit available at http://www.pfyc.com

The original SC/T concept cars from 1999 were supercharged, hence the name. However no production Grand Ams come with a supercharger from the factory.

ill stop postin pics. i wish i had supercharger though its one thing id have to worry about having broken. the mechanics around here arent always there sometimes and i wouldnt want them messing around with something like that.

Okay, here are the "plans" so far (opinions welcomed):

- Black over/inlays from Grafxwerks.com
- Altezza Tails
- Docterspeed Stage 3 Air Intake
- the headlights everyone's getting from ebay
- Borla Cat-back Exhaust system
- Optilux/Hella Angel Eyes Driving Lights
- Two-post Factory Mirrors (GM dealer)
- Fascia plate filler (GM dealer)
- Grill Inserts (http://www.customcargrills.com/proddetail.asp?prod=%2304%2D9902PGAGTXXLFLAT)
- ASA JS5 Chrome Plated 5-Spoke from Tirerack (later in the year, my stock ones are good for now)
- Kumho ECSTA ASX from Tirerack (had them on my'00 GT and loved them!)

And the grand total comes to about $2750 and that is without tax! (and S&H for some items) - any opinions on putting a wind deflector for the sunroof? Yay or nay?


****PS - If anyone out there knows where I can get some wind deflectors (or whatever they're called) with the CARBON FIBER look, hook me up! I bought my '00 GT from a guy who already had them installed and I would LOVE to get another set. I would've taken them off the '00, but the wreck ripped one apart.****

I'm not a big fan of wind defletors, but that's just me. I do have a sunroof one though if you're intrestead. PM me :)

Edit: The one I have isn't CF though.

i just heard the sc/t kit went on sale, its the lowest its been so far, so if your planning on doing it, i would do it soon.

It's something about a GA that looks like ^^ that 1, that makes me think muscle car'ish almost.. Almost like it should have s roaring v8 and 300hp lol. I think it' sjust cuz I love them so much. I think I like the looks of a GT with the SC/T kit, and dual post mirrors, and SC/T hood and all better than almost any newer model car.

You know I've driven two GT's now as well as my folks G6 GT and I test drove a G6 GTP - I'd have to say I am seriously lovin' the power from the G6 GTP, but I love the way the Grand Am GT just throws you back when you put the pedal down. Now a 300hp, RWD GA, whoaaaaaaaaa nelly!


(had to edit it, damn spelling - lol)
