i would like to know how much it would cost to have a new front bumper put on, and painted, etc along with a fog lamp replaced, as the fixture is broken... i hit a snow bank and it pretty much cracked the bumper, along with broke the fixture on the fog lamp and it looks as though the whole bumper will need to be replaced

i say buy a bumber, and light, put it on yourself, then just get an estimate on cost of paint. would be a lot cheaper that way. less money in labor

i think it is like 800 total if u go to a dealership, much better off getting a used one in good condition, in the color u need would be perfect, and then putting in on yourself, i don't think it is to hard

Removing and installing the front bumper is extremely easy. You may need to put the car up on ramps, or jack the front end up like I ended up doing. Remove the Ram Air shroud and push pins, remove the headlights and stash them atop the engine area for awhile (hood open obviously). Detach the bottom part of the wheel well cover that screws to the bottom of the bumper. It's side pieces of the wind deflector (that black thing that hangs down under the radiator). Should be 3 or 4 screws on the left and right sides. Now, there are 3 screws on each side of the bumper, where the bumper meets the fender area (like below you're Ram Air V6 badges), just ahead of the wheel. Best way to get to them is to remove the plastic push pins from the wheel well, and reach in to remove them, or you can get to them from the openings for the headlights. There are two push pins under the license plate area that must be removed. After that, you should be able to pull the bumper forward and off the car. It'll be flexible and kind of flimsy after it's off. Another set of hands could never hurt to remove it or reinstall it, but shouldn't be necessary.

Here's a thread showing the front bumper removed.

It'd be much cheaper to get a part off another car, or put a new bumper on yourself, and just have a shop paint it for you. If you put a new clip on, you'll need the black trim molding and the Pontiac emblem, as they don't come attached.

Only involves a couple of screw drivers and maybe a socket or two. Now is as good of a time to learn as any.

Well, maybe when it's a bit warmer out, but still, you should use this as an opportunity to learn. :)

if you were in michigan it would only take me 30 minute's and $50 to put a cover on. cover's are easy as hell. there's no skill involved.

I purchased mine off of ebay, the guy worked at a GM dealer even painted it for me (perfect match BTW) and it was like $450 shipped.
