Chat Room not working

Well I am trying to enter the chatroom. I used to do it in the past about 6 months ago. The only thing that happens now is a red "X" in the top left corner of the white screen. I used to use my name and join in the room. Is the chat room down or do I need to do somethning

BTW: I have the latest update of Java
