OK thanks for the advice on getting pics up everyone. Here's my pics! The 442 in the back ground is my dads. The pics have my Weapon R which has since been removed. I'm getting my exhaust redone so the mufflers will be tucked up behind the bumper more. That way it'll give me more clearance and won't stick out so far so they'll look better. So be easy on the exhaust burns! I'm not a ricer! That's why I'm geting them redone! New pics this spring when I'll have it dropped on Intrax and hopefully a new body kit and som LEDs! Scroll down i have the pics on a reply below.
Here's the link to the thread with updated pics:http://www.gaownersclub.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=56759

Sound mean as hell. Low and Raspy definatley not a rice sound. They sounded a little ricy at first but after a month or so they toned down. Everyone I know says it sounds just mean as hell. wish I could up load a sound clip. Most people think it's a V6. Even when they ride in it they think it's a V6 but the B&M short throw shift kit and the 5 speed throws them off. I can beat the V6 Grand Ams but the the ram airs still got me by a little.

Future plans include; Performance:
Near Future: Redone Exhaust, Custom Cold Air Intake (Weapon R/Injen Hybrid), Intrax 1.7” Lowering Springs, 58 mm Throttle Body, Ported Intake Manifold, Pacesetter Headers, How Flow Cat, Front and Rear Strut Tower Braces, Lightweight Alt. Pulley, Lightweight Crankshaft Pulley,
Eventually: Haven’t actually decided completely yet, but if I go NA I’m going to have custom ITB’s, made with four 750cc motorcycle TB’s, 40-42mm TBs per cylinder which is equivalent to a 84mm single TB, and a Quick Time Electric Exhaust Cut out, if I go with a Turbo Kit it will be custom from Hahn Racecraft, or I could Supercharge it with the RSM Kit, I’m more leaning towards the Cobalt SS motor swap, A Stock Supercharged 2.0 Ecotec that is rated at 221 hp but produces a dyno’d 234 hp stock and with an intake and cat back exhaust only will produce 260+ hp, Hahn Racecraft is currently developing a Turbo Kit for this motor meaning that a TwinCharging system might not be to far in the future for the Ecotec. A SuperTurboCharged Ecotec would be the greatest. The only possible way to improve on that would be to get a fully custom differential that can run a custom driveshaft to another custom differential in the rear creating the first All Wheel Drive TwinCharged Grand Am!
Exterior: Tinted windows 20%, Red Angel Eye fogs, red LED under body kit, Black head lights maybe projectors, Carbon fiber or black altezza tails, Carbon fiber hood, Carbon fiber trunk, Carbon fiber 1/4 panels painted stock red (all CF is for weight reduction), Intrax 1.7” Lowering Springs
This is a first draft of course! I'm going to put together a complete list of the internals that I want and I'll post it when I get it finished.

It's my dad's car. Come on! Do U think I would be modding my GA if I had that car! Only bad thing about it is that the car only gets 4 miles to the gallon!

Looks good. I like those wheels. My first comment was gonna be 'lower it' but I saw springs on your future list, so you know that already. I also don't like how the mufflers hang, but it sounds like that's getting taken care of, too. Make sure and post pics when the mufflers are tucked in better.

yeah... when I bought my car <------------- I stopped modding the GA. Now its the family car.

i like both cars. the 442 is bad-a$$, and the GA is pretty cool. the rims are nice, and im sure once the mufflers are tucked itll look way cooler. you definitely have a unique look going now.
oh, and get used to the negative comments. some people are just haters.

I wonder, Ive never seen or heard of anyone try to fab up intake throttle bodies for the ECOTEC yet, that might be interesting. You'd need to first port and polish the entire head (or buy a ported/polished) one. However, the ECOs don't have much potential for n/a tuning per say, but there are a plethora of parts for high hp forced induction applications; http://www.j-body.org is a great place to start, those kids know how to squeeze every last ounce of potential from those little eco engines.

Yeah I know the exhaust looks like a pile. When I went to pick it up from the CarX shop that installed it I told them that it looked like shit and said I wasn't going to pay for it unless they fixed it. They said I had better get a pretty damn good lawyer then cause there corporate one was high paid and very good. They said that the exhaust was functional so I would have no grounds in court. They said I wouldn't have a case off of just the way they look. I was pissed! I told them what I wanted it to look like and they pretty much ignored me and put it on how it was most convenient for them. $550 for an exhaust that looks like shit. Luckily my buddy's dad ownes a car dealership and he has an exhaust shop that does all of his work for him. He said they would cut the price in half of what any other shop would quote me at. So I'm gonna have my exhaust refitted so it will be tucked in more so the tips will be all that is sticking out not the whole damn can! Then they R going to angle them out a little bit because that seems to be what's hot in the spo-com scene right now. Wish me luck guys!

ooohh! LOL yea i'm not good with distinguishing them then :blush but it's STILL HOT!...props to your pops....and for the mufflers, easy there tiger....they were just voicing their opinion. at least you said that it was the shops fault (i actually do believe that because some are real airheads when it comes to making an exhasut setup) i certainly never said they were rice....it's just an easy way to modify your pipes instead of buying a 500 dollar SLP or a 850 dollar Borla....hopefully you can make it to Albany this year :)

Im not a fan of the mufflers period. IMO fart cans just look retarded on most applications. Rims look good though.

Put a phucking straight pipe on it and cut out the cans!

No way am I getting ride of the mufflers. They sound sick as hell. Anyone ever heard magnaflow exhaust on and ecotec? Sick. Trust me. Strait pipes would sound like shit. Deal with it 96GAGT!
By the way Katie; I wasn't trying to yell at U or anyone else I just wanted everyone to know that I know the exhaust looks like shit. Wasn't comming down on U for Ur post, so I hope it didn't come off that way! :) I checked on map quest last night and albany is an 18 1/2 hour drive from here! Thats my entire budget in gas money! I probably won't be able to make it this year for that reason but I'll have more upgrades next year so hopefully I can make it for 07.

I'm sure your exhaust sounds great. You have a sound clip of it laying around anywheres??
BledRedGaSe
02-22-2006, 10:19 AM
Yeah I've got a great sound clip on my camcorder but The cam doesn't have the right hook ups for my comp. I just got the camcorder about 6 months ago and my comp is almost 5 years old already. If I can get on a newer comp I'll load it up for you all to hear. All my freinds say that it sounds like a V6 because it's so low. It's got a nice rumble to it at idle. I wish you could hear it! I'm sure that there are some cavys with the ecotecs around that have the magnaflow set up. Mean as hell is what most people say about the sound. Most are surprised when they find out that I don't have any motor upgrades. It's not super loud either which I like cause it just sounds more intimidating. I can't even get any of the honda's around town 2 race me. There 2 scurred! HaHa! Scared of a 4 door grand am! I love it! :)

Mighty fine 442! I like your GA also, except for the..... well you know already. Kinda looks like it's rocket powerd. Seriously, those wheels will look really good when you lower it.
