i just changed my oil last weekend and was driving around that same night and my car stalled. so i pulled over and started her up again. 2 minutes down tha road, she stalls again, but this time it wont start. i go back the next morning and she starts right up and i get home. sometimes it starts right up after it stalls, sometimes i have to sit there for like 10 minutes until it will roll over again. its not the battery or starter because motor will roll but wont start. if anyone has any ideas on what could b wrong it would be greatly appreciated if i could here them.

coil packs, or modual, does your valve cover leak oil like the rest, cause the oil will leak all over the engine and it gets down into the coil packs and will cause a short making the car skip and then die, not start, and be real finiky about running when it wants.

I had this very scenario that p8ntman442 is describing. Found an oil leak in qualifying and a loose bolt on the valve cover. Tightened all the valve cover bolts and in my first race the gasket completely failed. Got it fixed in time for the feature event but suddenly had no power and sounded like crap. Working tonight to change out the coil packs, plugs and wires. Will let you know the conclusion of this.
My question is can I clean up the old coil packs and keep them as spares? I can see the oil causing a temporary short circuit but, don't see the long term damage possibility.

Well, I got this completed but haven't fired the car up yet. When I pulled the camshaft sensor out it looked like an inch worm with all the metal shavings standing on end around it.
Going to need to replace this engine.
Question is do I replace it with an 2.5 or swap it out with an LO which I already have (entire car rear end/passenger fire damage)? Sounds like alot of work but so far that would be my cheapest option...

Bandit before you go to the trouble of cleaning the coil packs check the resistance on the primary terminals(range 0.50 to 0.90 ohms)and the secondary terminals(range 5K to 10K ohms) sides of the packs. If either side is out of these ranges the coil is bad.
