In all this weekend I finsh painting the interior all except for the Heater knob which the paint never dried right on. I installed my LEDS w/ console switch, removed the fascia and replaced the turn signal bulb and clean the engine bay. Heres some pictures. I can't take a good picture of the LEDS for some reason but they do look good.

Switch for the LEDS. I cut out the little thing that says "Push brake to shift from park" or some crap like that.

I plan to tommerow afternoon. I cleaned the engine today so at least I've started. And if you look at the 3 pic you can see I start to clean the floor.

why clean before modding, I know after installing my command start I made a mess of my car.

GrandAmSSE
02-26-2006, 07:56 PM
Most of that from my lawn. So besides the mess what do you think?

looks like the paint came out pretty good, but im not sold on that shift knob. Doesnt look right on there. The switch looks good though.

but yeah, you gotta get in there ASAP and vacuum up that dirt. Go out and get some ArmorAll cleaner and protective wipes. Maybe your next mod should be a pair of floor mats, the nice all weather rubber ones.

GrandAmSSE
02-26-2006, 08:17 PM
Hey thanks you just reminded me I got floor mats from the Escort I made into a stock car. Yes you heard right. They have a FWD dirt track class out here by me.

Yeah the brown color looks sick I know. I'll paint it tommerow and see how it looks then.

P.S it came out of my 70 Challenger

Unfortunately they are. Front 2 are $60 alone IIRC.

dealer floormats make me sick! Got to ricerzone and get a pair of BLACK RUBBER floormats. And please, no NOS floormats, only retards buy NOS floormats. Unless you have a 'NOS' nitrous kit, but advertising the fact that you have a nitrous injection system is never a great idea, especially when you dont have one :(

Also, I dont think the shift knob will look that great, but then again I think all autmatic shift knobs look rather doofy

The GM ones are the only kind I've found (besides those expensive Lloyds ones) that are fitted properly and don't get stuck under or otherwise impede the operation of the clutch pedal. In an automatic, you can prolly get away with the Pep Boys junk mats though.

I was thinking some mats with the Pontiac emblem or that say Grand Am. I'll look on ebay. There building an autozone by me but its not finshed yet.

Upholstery cleaner + Brush + time = cleaness!

quadkid
02-28-2006, 12:17 AM
Never been a fan of seat covers since they dont hold tight to the seat usually. For a little bit more money you can either get new seats at a salvage yard or get a pair of new upholstery for them. Its not hard to re-upholster them, just some time, patience, and a little force.

just found these floor mats in the Links section. $85 for the front 2, but they have kits that include the rear.

Seat covers should be reserved for cars where the owners have a job where they get dirty and the seat covers are used to protect the nice clean seats underneath. Not as a style statement....

A can of uphulstery cleaner and a brush will make a world of difference. Same goes for your floors:barf:

I got seat covers from ricerzone (lol flaming abound!) and they fit damn good, not to mention that they are blakc and match the rest of interior. PLus ya know, I was tired of ripping the uphosterry on my seats, and there were stains from the previous owner that would not come out. Sometimes you just need to go with the seat covers - or maybe get some katskins leather, those things look DAMN good

Previous owners suck. Leaving stains on the floor and cabbage and fries under the center console. BASTARDS! Would it kill them to get it detailed before they hand over the keys. I mean really.

i work at a dealership and clean cars there. You couldnt even imagen what the insides of some peoples cars look like. A mini van once came in for service, it was FILLED with all kinds of crap that there was only room for someone to sit in the drivers seat, and stuff would still call on you and touch you, i was sick after driving that thing.

I had a van come into my install bay for a radio. This things dash was one big piece and went all the way down like a center console.. so were talking roughly 80-100 screws and all metal so it wasn't easy to get out and steering wheel wasn't adjustable so that had to come out too. Well this kids van was full of cig buts and ashes and was just flat out nasty like a hobo was living in it. Well I started working on it despite the fact that there was weed smoke still coming out of it when he pulled it in. After about 7 horriable minutes I started to get light headed and had to quit working on it. lol I called him and told him his van was far to nasty for me to touch and he's lucky I didn't call the cops on his ass for bringing it in smelling like weed the way it did. I dont care what people do in their own cars. I have worked on tons of cars that smelled like weed. I actually like the smell of it lol.. but this was just disgusting. I had to talk to my manager later that day and was sent home cause my clothes reaked of weed and he didn't want me talking to customers like that lol. Btw no I dont smoke weed at all incase you were wondering. Moral here is .. keep your shit clean cause you never know who is going to be working on it. That and um.. germs spread.. imagine driving your filthy germ infested car with billions of bacteria crawling all over the place then stopping at like McDonalds for a bite to eat without washing your hands.. gross dude lol.. on another note if you need help were in the same area, hit me up and I will try and help you turn that horrid thing around lol cya

Do you wash your hands after tieing your shoes? Think about how they get dragged though urine and all kinds of other nasty things. I'm going to take some pics of the foglights now. The nuts that held them in were a PITA. But there in and look good.

03-03-2006, 09:44 PM
lol I ALWAYS was my hands before eating or after using the restroom, or messing with really nasty dirty things. Obviously you missed the point here. I wasn't trying to be mean or anything. I offered to help but never mind cause I wont help do rumble tips, seat covers, electric superchargers, basic air filtration systems or lame ass system installs. Sorry but I dont think your car will ever ammount to anything but a pile of rust.

Did I say I bought them from you in a earlier post? Well if not thank you. I really need to get the paint touched up. Lot of small scratches. Some fat ho must of sat on the hood before I got it cause theres a dent and the paint has cracked. But I'm going to be get a new hood and trunk lid. I've thought of getting the whole car painted but theres no mid-price range shops over here. Either the cheapo 126.00 places or a 1000.00 shops.

Feedback left. I need to find some wheels. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the JY at the end of the month.

03-05-2006, 05:04 PM
If your going to the junk yard to get wheels. More than likely you wont find nice 17's or 18's but more or less you could get some good looking 16" pontiac ones.. Stick with those.

GrandAmSSE

I'm hoping to get these. What do you think?

What are the wheels in your pic off of?

Bouchie11982
03-06-2006, 07:28 PM
you can find those rims off of any GT's in the generation. and IIRC they come in 16's. look through your local junkyard, i'm sure there are some floating out there. i used to have a set but had them sold...i had lost interest in them. i stripped off all the clear coat and wet sanded them so they would have a nicer finish to them and clear away all the dings in them.

DontPassTheFence
03-06-2006, 07:44 PM
those 5 spokes on the 92-95 GTs and optoinal on all 96-98 GAs are EXCELLENT WHEELS! My dad had those on his 95GT, and I was trying to get some for my 97, but I never found them for a decent price, so I went aftermarket.

As far as pontiac stock wheels go, the only rims nicer than those 5 spokes are the new chrometechs (torqued or regular, I love them both)

GrandAmSSE

How much you think they would cost me.
