how do i know if i have a clear coat on my paint?

I believe most cars have clear coat its what protects that paint and keeps it shinning. I know at least with GM its that way.

A 99 GA WILL for sure have clear coat, unless it has been repainted already for some reason. but then likely it will have clearcoat.

I think some new really cheap cars don't have clearcoat, but to my knowledge all GM cars do..

yeah, most paint jobs are base coat/clear coat..... early 90's and GM had a problem with the paint staying on their cars....

.....go on ebay and look at older cars, and you can see where it's faded on the hood, and very dull, that is proablly becuase the clear coat got worn down and is now gone..... looks like :shit: too

I thought all new cars have at least one coat of clear coat?
