Its $60 bucks cheaper then Dr. Speed, but no one has ever mentioned it before. Whats the deal?

The only reason I want a Dr. Speed one is because everyone is satisfied with it and apparently, it comes with very good instructions, which I will need.

Should I go with Milzy?

That's because it isn't made from aluminum like Dr. Speeds. It's more of a flexible tubing.

So Dr. Speed is better?

for aestetics(sp) yes. For function well it's tough to say without dyno comparing the two. I would venture to guess though that the Dr. Speed may be a weee bit better.

the flexible tubing has ribs in it which can potentially cause less flow in air because it is bouncing off the ribs. that is why most people replace the ribbed section between the trottle body and the tb sensor. aluminum piping will make the air go straight and only straight. as far as reducing performance.. it's hard to say without a dyno comparison like eric99gt stated. but i would say go with dr. speed. i almost got milzy's intake.. til i found out it was the ribbed stuff.

the other alternative would be to get the RS Akimoto sport flexible aluminum tubing. it is used in many applications for racing such as exhaust and intake... it resists heat up to like 50,000 degrees or something like that. and even though it's flexible there's no ribs or anything to restrict flow. summitracing.com had them for about 50 bucks a tube for a 4 foot section.

I got a response back from milzy. Thought I would share what he had to say:

Sorry for the late reply.

My intake is different than the Dr. Speed one, mostly b/c I use a non-metallic tube for the intake tube. The reason I did this is to eliminate heat transfer to the tube causing it to heat up, and then transfer this heat to the incoming air. So basically mine is designed for functionality more than looks. Mine still looks clean, but his is polished aluminum so shinier.

I need to write up some instructions for the kits. So far I haven’t needed to, I’ll do what I can to write those instructions up soon.

Yes, it comes with a K&N filter.

No modifications to the car or special tools are needed.

What the difference between this ebay one and the dr. speed one?

And how come this seller sells CAIs, but they vary very widely in price? 2 piece, 1 piece, 3 piece? Is that it? Whats the difference?
