My friend ordered some for his Sebring, was cut PERFECT, but he didnt know how to tint very well, so he didnt do the back window. All other windows ended up fitting great tho:eek:

pre cut tint sucks. I had it profesionaly installed and sucked. The idea is you it is cut perfect by a maching but that means it takes more time to line it up which caused mine to have more dust and hair in it that caused bubbles. The best way to get it done is by hand which would be a perfect tint job. I paid $150 for mine all 5 windows with warenty. Trust me, i got my pre cut tint taken off. Also First i had a 20% in the back and 40% in the front. Soon after I got a 5% on the back and 15% on the front and it looked sick. No problems with cops. There are also 3 diffferent types of tints. Dye, Dye/ mettle and full mettle. Do you research and you wont be diaponited no matter what. Good luck =)

thats one of those ideas that sounds good on paper, but doesnt do so well in the field. when i got the gf's GA tinted they used a machine to cut it out.......didnt look good IMO. i made them take it off and do it by hand. came out looking MUCH better.

You should be able to get it done for a lot less than $300. I would shop around...

well theres only one place around where i live that does tint. they never used to be that high, they used to be around the 180 range, but i guess they thought it was time to price gouge.

well.....i think i paid $240 for the tint on my 4door 99 SE. and that's with ALL the windows......including the windshield....with Llumar Platinum (the all metal stuff) that has a lifetime guarantee to not bubble, peel, crack, fade, pull off, etc.

so i wouldn't say 300 is too far out of range, just depends on the quality of work. these guys tried to take the easy way out with their machine, but after they redid it it came out perfect.

precut tint is not bad at all...i dont know u guys have been doin with it to make look bad...my friend did it himself on his accord and it looked great....u need to take ur time and do it and make sure the window is clean so u dont have hairs...i tinted my expedition myself and it came out great.

Take a trip down to Madison and visit Eclipse Tint they are really friendly people and have a lifetime waranty on their Llumar line tint;) I had 5 cars tinted with them so far and no complaints;)

Doesn't sound like any professional tint job I've heard of. Next tint you might want to make sure the 'professional' cleans your glass first.

If tint isn't lined up prefectly to move it you just slide it across the glass, you don't remove it. Not sure what you mean by "best way is done by hand", it's all done by hand. When you tint a window with a roll of film you lay it on the outside of the window and cut it to the proper shape then install it. No different than precut tint, except for the fact that you don't have to trim it to size yourself. Only a amature would take a oversized hunk of tint into a car, put it on the window and trim the excess off afterwards.

BTW, I have tinted a few cars in my younger days and even my first one came out exceptionally well (2 peice rear window on a 3rd Generation Camaro is rather tricky with it's compound curves but with patience and proper knowledge is can come out flawless). Our Grand Am was tinted professionally, the guy has a computer program that cuts the tint to the proper shape before he installs it. And that too was prefect.

Better explanation as to why it didn't look good.

the gaps were too big. i'm used to tint going to the very edge of the glass. it looked like they had trimmed it down INSIDE the car. when you rolled the windows down there was a 1/2" (just a stab off the top of my head) gap around the back windows. and about a 1/8" on the front. the back glass came out looking pretty good, and the front windshield came out pretty good. had to take it back to them about 4 times for them to get all the air bubbles out though.

sorry, by hand i meant do it the old fashioned way of cutting it by hand and not relying on a machine.
