hey thanks man I will get better pics soon . I would like to get a under glow kit for it . also a wing some rims to paint white . Iam getting the inside done red hope to get that done this week . I want to make it go faster but cant find things for the 2.3 Quad 4 DOHC ..

I like don't think you should get a wing for it. If I were you, I'd save the money that you are planning to put into the wing, underbody kit, and white rims, and put this money into (1) a set of nice rims (possibly second-hand), or (2) a nice exhaust system and professionally tinted windows. Either way, I think both of these modifications would look much better than slapping a park bench onto your trunk and spray-bombing some rims white.

Just my opinion, I really like your car and don't want to see you do anything to make it look bad.

Take your time, look around and everything will work out right. All our cars started out stock.

Save pictures of things you like. Before I painted my interior, I had saved dozens of shots. It helped be decide how much to paint and what colors.

That car has the FAST idea behind it. The 2.3L QUAD DOHC engine is amazing. My suggestion would be to find a friendly local junkyard, dig up as many HO parts for it that you can (olds achievas, other Grand ams (the older ones especially), beretta GTZ, and a couple others have had the 2.3L QUAD HO engine inside them. You can get the HO cams, the HO intakes, HO TB, HO head, and bascially turn your car into a naturally aspirated BEAST.

the guys down at http://www.quad4forums.com know all too well how to make a QUAD engine fast, even without the aide of superchargers and turbochargers (however those both help quite well, but to see more amazing gains, the internals of the engine should be replaced with stronger, forged aftermarket pieces)

If you just go there, spend about 2-4 hours reading up on everyones how-tos, and searching for HO swap, or W41 swap (the w41 engine is an even more powerful version of the HO QUD engine and was only available on the SCX achievas)

Also, amazingly enough, it has made it past the 100K mark. That is the mark of a taken care of QUAD engine, in another 30-50K miles you may want to think about completely tearing down the engine and rebuilding it, replace all gaskets, replace hoses that look even slightly worn, check wire integrity, have a compression check done on all cylinders, check for oil sludge, check for antifreeze in the oil (happened to a guy here, its not pretty!) these QUADs have been know to overheat and even warp/crack cylinder heads from that overheating, since you've made it to 120K there is more of a likelihood that may happen to your car, just be extremely cautious and watch the temp guage!!

I wish the best of luck to you and your QUAD-powered Grand Am, those things really are a feat of GM engineering, I hope you have had fun with it and continue to have even more fun with it now that you seek to mod it. :thumbup: - OH, and :welcome: to the club :D

FYI, looking at your pics I see you have OBD version 1.5 PCM - which is a good thing if you're planning HO part swaps.

Random useless FYI, you have option group 1SA (minimal options, but comes with rear defogger and cruise control)... same as mine.

Nice man. Welcome to our little club.

I had a 95 GA with the 2.3L. Nice car til I crashed it. What I was planning was to replace the stock spoiler with one from a 99-04 Mustang. The curve of the spoiler flows well with the curve of the back bumper on our year GA's.

Someone here has done it to his. I am gonna see if I can find the pic for you.

What I would suggest for you to do is, like it has already been said, get the HO parts for your motor. Get a CAI and a good quality CAT back system. That will bump your HP but keep the car close to stock. The ultimate sleeper.

You could alos get some GT model tail lights and clear them to make your own custom Euro lights. A lot of people on these forums have done it and it looks great.

well done on the IDI cover :thumbup: Just dont get the wing! The money you waste on that wing could be better spent modding up that QUAD engine so you can beat that cavalier, your car already looks aesthetically better than a cavalier, now you just need to make it fast :D

Yes, but IMO that's a poor idea with an automatic. On the street and off the line the car will be slower. Additionally, there's no PCM code for an HO/automatic... which means no higher revlimit. It would shift or hit the rev limiter just as you're hitting peak powerband. The powersteering pump drive will still be an issue. It's your call though.
