Why do people like Hondas? They have the worst styling, that car looks like something off of futurama. Absolutely hidious!!!

is that the production model or a concept? if its production it got out of the door with alot more curves/rim than usual. I, for one, like it siply becuase there is not anything else like it that I have seen. One of my beefs with grand ams (and even more so w/ mustangs) is that everyone has one, and I didn't have the $$$ to make mine unique, so I was just one of the pack.

The back end is hideous, obviously this wont be the "american" version

Blow that sucker up!!!
I'm not a fan of Hondas but at the auto show I checked out the new Civic Si Coupe, that thing impressed me. It looks decent, there's also the S2000, but other than that Honda's overrated.

I'll admit, the Si looks alot better then the Type-R... but looking at it, atleast the front, just screams out Saturn. Honda proves yet again that they lack origanality. Though when they think outside their box.... they make things like that type-R or the Ridgeline...

actually that front end screams baby TL
if you want to talk about lacking originality then whats going on with the cobalt becoming a pontiac and a holden becoming a GTO...thats lacking my friend

^^^ thats GM being lazy. If you take a gander at the Grand Prix, Monte Carlo, new Impala and the Corvette, those cars say otherwise.
However, the s2000 is one Honda id be proud to own, Id just have to debadge the hell out of it so I could stand seeing it in my driveway.

I agree the GP ,Impala, and Monte have their own styling....but the new corvette is a spitting image of the ferrari F430 right down to the rims....

that type-r kinda reminds me of a new, ugly Peugot.

show me one picture of them that makes them look the same. they have 2 very different styling cues. The C6 looks like the C5 minus a couple changes, but still nothing like a F430. The ferrari looks more like a lambo. more than anything.

not my kind of car but I would take it over the sicon XB :)

Yep, the rear end is pretty similar as are the rims, Im surprised at how I could have missed that, but the front ends are very different. SHOULD HAVE KEPT THE DAMN POP UP HEADLIGHTS! JERKS

The front bares MUCH more similarity to this little guy right here

I dont know what model this is however, a 355?

Ah i can see it now, I couldnt find a good shot of the front, but that enzo inthe rear there is the hottest. Man I guess all the big shots went out to Hooters that day, wheres your TL at?

The pictures were taken back in nov by a relative in Florida ....I guess there happened to be a ferrari meet while he was at hooters
My TL is under 10" of snow at the moment lol

that looks like a 360 modena, not an enzo.
honestly, that pic still doesnt show too much similarity. At most it looks like the ferrari was compacted in the front. The cab sits a lot more foward, and the vents are totally different. I agree that its more like a 355, but youre still looking at a car thats only $65k.

Trust me the red ferrari is an F430
Here's another pic for similarity
Rick-sorry to hijack your thread......

yea, the vette is a bit longer in the front than the ferrari; and the ferrari has better headlights, even though they arent pop-ups.
Also, all Ferraris are RED, amirite
It makes sense the vette was modeled (too closely) after a spectacular supercar, its trying its hardest to be one. However, both of those are no Testarossa. (However they outperform it by atleast twofold)

i wouldn't even want one of those. i just got something faster, more maneuverable, more comfortable, just as reliable, and with the cargo space of a CRV to boot. what the S2000 can manage for mpg on the highway, my new ride can get in the city. i was at a honda dealer last week, looking around, ( i knew what i was after, but i was looking anyway ), and they told me flat out when asked that they had nothing on the lot that could be compared with it. i was thinking of debadging her a little but i haven't made up my mind..
interestingly, it came with a MOMO steering wheel, sorta relevant to the current direction of the thread..

what is this car you speak of?
rabidpanda69
03-07-2006, 10:33 PM
I wanna know too  You cant say all that and not tell us what car is!
As far as the vette, the front does look similar as do the wheels. I wouldnt call it a lack of originality, but the look they were goin for. I think the pop up headlights are better off in the past. They're cool, but they're just another thing to go wrong. A pricey one at that.

i was hoping you would guess.. did i mention it's awd too?
i see the similarity in the vette & ferrari immediately - but that wedge-shape is predominant in supercars. i really don't think it was GM's intention to copy the design, it's just the logical aerodynamic extension of recent vettes. i like the headlights better actually - the pop-ups produce alot of drag and are prone to geting stuck open or shut. i miss the fender flares of the old stingrays though.

in a straight line it would be a drivers race if you were both stock
in the twisties I wouldnt be surprised if an s2000 took you, then again that would be a drivers race too
DontPassTheFence

so wait, a WAGON wx is faster than an s2000... You must have talked those Honda salesmen up a wall, or they don't know much about their own vehicles.
It comes down to drivers as John said, dont underestimate the s2000, it has been designed and tuned to go as fast as possible through corners (incredibly fast turn-in, leads to insanely fast corner entries, but the lack of torque kills the corner exit if you dont keep the engine revving high)
If your WRX is N/A (and coupled with the extra weight of the fatty wagon) then Id be willing to bet you would lose in a straight line stock-for-stock, or it might be real close depending on your ability to lauch the AWD, and the honda driver's ability to launch the NO TORQUE mobile... Anyways, neither car is designed for straight-line speed, Id be very interested to see a stock s2000 and a stock wagon WRX go at it on a downhill course, an uphill course, and a short autocross track.

we can at least agree that the two cars are at a comparably high performance level. the fact that we're comparing an awd compact wagon to a car that hardly has a trunk speaks volumes IMO... the rest of that conversation belongs i think in the racing forum.
i didn't talk anyone up about the car - the dealers had driven it! although, i will admit they might have been confusing it with what i gather was an STI they had some months ago on trade, which would whomp an s2k without argument.
there are no N/A WRX's - the N/A imprezas are RS (sedan) and TS (wagon) models. my WRX wagon has the same 2.0l turbocharged, intercooled flat four that the reguar WRX's have, and the wagon only weighs 80lbs more than the sedan. not a big difference.
i haven't driven a stick in 5-6 years and never owned a forced induction car before - so in a driver's contest i am not currently your driver lol but again we're comparing a miata on steroids to a much more versitile and economical car. even if the performance is equal or the s2k edges out the wrx, in overall value and utility the WRX wagon is incomparably better. the CRV and the s2k would have to have a bastard child before honda would have anything to offer as an alternative.
The WRX wagons only weigh 80 lbs more than the sedan; both weigh less than an STi (due to the STi's extra equipment). All of the extra weight is in the rear, which slightly improves the f/r weight balance, too.
If completely stock, including the RE-92 tires on the WRX, I think a S2000 would be superior in the twisties. First upgrade for a WRX - 17" rims and tires! The RE-92's are pretty poor tires for the car. With decent tires, the WRX can definately hold its own.
Voyager, congrats on the purchase. Check out NASIOC.com for an Impreza forum; it's one of the largest forums (period) on the internet.
Wagons rule; I wish I had my old TS wagon! They killed off the TS trim, though, in 2005; they're 2.5RS sedan or 2.5RS wagons, now.
