that would be awesome, in theory, but I do not knwo of anyone that has tried this... probably because HID lighting can run pretty steep monetarily, and for just fog lights it might seem a bit too much. However, if you can find a kit cheap enough I bet it would be worth doing, just aim those things correctly so you dont blind everyone within sight of your car

H3 is among the worst for HID compatibility. You might end up with the look of HID but the light will probably go everywhere regardless of how you aim the housings. Here's a list of various halogen bulb types and their compatibility with HID bulbs: http://faqlight.carpassion.info/special-topics.htm

Heh, I still gotta get around to retrofitting my headlights with my e46 projector, ds2 bi-zenons. I' so glad that poor 325I came into the shop with both headlights cracked. Excellent way to score a top notch bi xenon setup:D

I am in the process of doing it, oooo i like this I guess I am the first to do it here! I love it! Anyway yeah i am in the process of doin that now but I have to send back a bad ballast. You have to fit the bulbs into the housing a little bit cuz the H3 bulb in there has notches that an HID H3 doesnt have, just get out a dremel or something and start fitting. If u wanna wait like a week or so I can tell and show u how mine come out.
Peace,
Andrew

Id say it isnt stock, I think he has hella fogs, but I could be wrong...
I hope he isnt putting HIDs in a stock housing without a projector-type fitting in there to properly aim the light and make a friendly beam-pattern as well

Are you speaking of putting hid in fog lights? I would not recomend that but to each his own.
If you were referring to my project what I am doing is entirely different.

one problem with that.... my h3's in my hella's are brighter than my high beams, and all of it is silverstar. Blinding someone with HID H3's may be an under statement, burning thier retna's is more like it
