I believe the trannies out of the 3.1L 5 speed cavaliers or sunbirds will work but I dont know how much work in entails..

ok...I need to find out some info on trannys
First i guess i'll tell you my plan....
I have a 97 ga with a 2.4L auto and my plan is to swap in a 3800 from a bonnavile and i'd like to know a couple ?'s
1.I know that the ecotec trans from a cavy will bolt up to the 3800....are the mounts for the 2.2L ecotec tranny the same as a manual 2.4L tranny?
2.Do the bell houseings have the same bolt pattern?
3. What years did the ecotec come in the cavy and or ga?

Better question is who is doing your wiring and going to reflash your computer?

how about "will a 4cyl tranny be geared very well for an L67?" <-- i think that's a good one.
obviously you're not getting your computer reflashed; you are wise and will use a stand-alone unit.
let us know when you start your swap; i'll call work for you and tell them you have to quit because you'll be busy tryng to get your swap to work for the next few months, and busy trying to get traction for an indefinate period after that.
