OHHHHHHH....ok, I believe the rubber part is actually "C" shaped. you mount the sub with it on, by pulling back the top flange and putting the mounting screws in through the holes in the outter parameter and through the bottom flange of the rubber cover. The point of the rubber ring is to cover the mounting screws. You know what I mean?...i'm bad at explaining :(

Good luck :)

Good luck :) lol actually you did a good job at explaining it.. but we have done it before so I guess that you and I would understand that a little better. lol. Basically if you still dont understand all he is saying is, Leave the rubber flange on the sub, put the sub in the box, bend back the top edge of the flange toward the outside of the box, put your screws in and let the flange go back into original state b4 you bent it back. done. simple.. yay.. now go out poundin, get a hood rat that likes your system and do more banging in the back seat.. gg have fun lol..

ok if the ring came on the sub and you dont know how to get it off.. then start near the outer foam ring of the sub and grab the rubber piece that is on the lip... now pull the rubber piece toward the outter lip of the sub. It should expose your screw holes and everything.

Yeah, that was a better explanation :D

David, I see in the pic you don't have the ring on...pull the sub out, put the ring on, and then reinstall it how we said :)
