Cup Holder

Hope this is the right section to post this question in.

One thing that I have found pretty uncomfortable about my 99 GA SE is the cup holders. Im use to having a 32oz fountain drink or water bottle with me when I drive around. This car has a small flat area between the gear shift and the console storage compartment but that doesnt hold a large container in place when I make a turn. The other cup holder is way up underneith the stereo and only a small 12oz can will fit there.

My question is what have any of you guys rigged up to hold your soft drink or coffee cup so that they dont spill over when you make a turn or hit a speedbump.

Same here. Im looking to get some rubber things that go in the cupholders of a chevy trailblazer and put them in my car. The rubber things hold drinks very well in my moms vehicle.

You could cut a hole in your center console and find a cup hold that will fit flush and look good. I say find the cup holder first.

Something like that would work. In the 99 for some reason they didnt bother to make a good cupholder. Cutting a hole is definately an option I just wanted to see if anyone else has done. Spent a good while on cardomain but didnt see anything.

I dont allow liquids in my car, it really helps cups frm spilling. :D

Go to a west marine and get a Jumbo Cup holder, theyre like $5-7 for one. You might be able to cut the hole in the flat area and drop it in. I used 2 of them on my custom truck console and theyre big enough for a can with a coozie.

My 2000 came with a removable cup holder that fits in the space between the gear shift and center console. It holds a 44oz. I've never had any problems with it. It stays in place because it fits under the center console lid and is held in place by the point that holds the lid down.

i just take a can... i really dont have a problem with any of them. i think their placing is weird as none other... but i mainly only drink from a can so they alll work fine for me :(

Yeah; if you ever see a grand am in a junkyard look to see it has the removeable one...mine's actually sitting beside my computer cuz I keep forgetting to take it back out to my car...

i hate my cupholders, which is why i use bottles with caps and just put them in the center console compartment.
