Ok, after I researched this for like who knows how long, I finally decided that a catback would not be economical for me. After reading here, it seems the popular choise is a flowmaster series 80 for the application I would be using it for... plus it sounds great! (i played the clip from that exhaust site about 100 times) so ummm, here are a couple quick (crappy 56k beware) movies of the exhaust going down the street from the inside of the car. some pictures included as well!

well i looked at the flowmaster website and the 80 series is only for a dual exhaust which i dont have and dont really want...which one would i use for mine to get a deep bass tone? mine is a 4cyl 05 se by the way.

ive got a shot of me running it... but um... its not worthy of being on the net to say the least.
i absolutely love it, its not overly loud, it "knows" when to shush up on the interstate its not a loud rumbeling, and its not soft either... its perfect in my books!

ive never used flowmaster before so when u say neighbors like it at midnight do mean thats because its quiet? yeah im not look for anything that is too loud i guess...i just want something that has a deep bass...any suggestions? i know some flowmasters do but i dont know which ones and i dont really wanna pay the high price for a borla exhaust.

well my truck has a single Flowmaster 40 series going to dual tailpipes that isnt anything close to being quiet. My Edelbrock headers dont help either. At my school I can drive through the parking garage nice and slow, at about 1600rpm in 4th gear and make car alarms go off .. no problem.
I used to have a 70 series and it wasnt nearly as loud. It gave a nice rumble, but i just like loud and obnoxious trucks. With the 80 series I wouldnt worry about noise complaints from neighbors.

the flow master super 40s or one of the loudest that flowmaster has to offer, this one guy in az has a aed kit with two flow master 40s , ive seen it at car meets but never really heard him rev, ill trust his wife when she says it wakes her up when she comes home. i have the 80 series but with 2.25 piping so my gain is absolute crap but it sounds great, reason for not having 2.5 is becuase i trusted the midas touch. *long story short, never ever go their for anything.

yeah, the super 40's are nasty little mufflers. A buddy of mine has them on his dual exhaust setup for a 4.3L in his S-Ton (s-10 running 40" tires on 1 ton axles) and it sounds rediculous. The V6 sounds like a built v8 when he romps it.

muffler was 120, tips were like 35, and the install (with the piping they had to bend and to cut off the old muffler was 60... got the muffler at pepboys, and everything else and the install was done at main street muffler right next to the speedway in Cumberland.
