I was thinking of finding a trans am ram air hood and having the scoops cut out and welded into my GA hood and painted. Think this would work? Ever heard of it being done before?

Actually do a search for the word "Hood", you'll see many photos of it.

BTW, if your looking for a WS6 hood good luck welding it to your stock hood.

Because you can't "weld" composite, fiberglass or whatever they make it from to steel.

couldnt you just fiberglass the scoop right to the grand am hood. that fiberglass resin holds up pretty good. i thought i seen that some where before.

Probably be cheaper to buy one then to make one.

if people paid you a lot money to make those hideous kits, you would too... I blame it on the buyer, not the seller.

yea, don't ruin a completely good hood just to cut the scoops out to put on yours. it would be much easier and cheaper to buy only a scoop and mold it on. a few people here have done that.

You just get the scoop? I thought you got the whole hood.

yes, you can just buy a scoop by itself and then mold it on, prep it, and have it painted. that way, you wouldn't be ruining a perfectly good WS6 hood.

If you want a WS6 style hood that is made for the 92-95 Grand AM, which I have one myself :)

It is a fiberglass hood, very light :)
