I love the grills. I'd do that to mine, but the mesh doesn't look quite right on my white car. I popped my grills out and stuck a sheet of it behind the slots to get an idea....didn't really care for it. So I just painted the edge around the grills

I did the same thing as you and thought it sucked. But then thought about it with the black trim and thought it would look kick ass. Heres carpet. I'm only going to use the 3.3 from now on.

it looks like it was well done, but did you use chicken wire? I'm sorry, but I really don't like the look of chicken wire on cars. Again, it looks like it was a well done mod, but I would like it better if it were expanded mesh or gutter guard at least.

the carpet doesn't look too bad at all. if the black covered those stains, then it was a good idea.

Oh wow, there is a noticable difference with the carpet. woah. Ok, back to topic... nice mesh too. i dont think its chicken wire... its more like... Mesh on wood stoves or something, i donno.. it looks familiar and its flimsy. but oh well, it still looks badass if i dont think about that.

yeah, have you seen the grills on the CTS-V's close up? they had a bunch of them at Lime Rock at my last visit and the grill were just as thin feeling at grandamsse's. Kinda made me mad the CTS-V is such a nice car with a crummy grill. It feels like itll blow off at highway speed, haha.

just mentioning it, not trying to start something.

yeah, too much mesh isnt good looking. it should be left for main openings like you have it.

Yeah, its a nice color. My fav Grand Am color is the color of Big Joe's grand am. My cousin has one sitting on his property for parts or something. That really nice blue.

Mesh on wood stoves? I'm not sure what that looks like... But to me, it looks like chicken wire because it appears to be twisted or wrapped around itself at the points of contact, and is really thin.

The CTS-V has woven mesh, which IMO looks MUCH better than expanded or twisted mesh.

looks like gutter guard to me. not knocking it as it was the first grill i had on my car.(i used the plastic one so it wouldnt rust :) ) butit does make the car look better

yeah Dave, the woven looks nice. The way the sun hits it it really jumps out and looks killer, but have you pushed on it before? Its very flimsy feeling, like it has no structure. Thats all.
