I blew both rear 6x9s. Someone on here said it could be the tweeter coming unmounted so i chopped it off. After this, I noticed the tears on the speaker (after destroyin the tweeter). So, I ordered new JBLs but they wont be in for a week. So, I thought it would be funny to hot glue the speaker and put it back in the car until my JBLs arive. Ya'll will never believe this, but the sound quality isn't bad. I still want new ones because I refuse to have hot-glued speakers; but, if anyone is really stingy, give it a try.

I suppose it would work, as long and its just the cone thats damaged. I've seen and heard many "patched" subs and they sounded jsut fine....althought it was just holesfrom a slipped screw gun piercing the surround or a small hole in the cone..not an overly huge area.

small strips of duct tape work well too :D
My sister blew the front speakers on her old sunbird...I pulled them out, ripped off the rest of the foam surround and put small strips of duct tape around it, and they sounded great! She actually thought I bought new speakers for her ...I should have charger her $100 :D

Now that is funny, i tried patching a sub but it didnt work too well, touch much vibration for it to hold up.
