Okay, tommorow, I'm gonna run the two 4 gauge powerwires for my amps. I am having trouble finding a stock spot to run the wires through, am i going to have to drill a hole through the firewall?

Well, I ran mine through a stock spot, but you wont get 2 wires through there. I used the grommet that the cruise control goes through. another option, and a fairly easy one would be to run them through the grommet where the steering wheel comes through the firewall.

You can drill a hole if you want, check out this thread...

because my amps need 4 gauge wire, and i couldnt find a resonably priced distro box that would branch off too 4 gauge wire. only ones i could find were 4 ga into two 8 gauge or ought gauge into 1 4 gauge and 2 8gauge. so i figured id just run 2 4 gauge wires.

I ordered the firewall bushing to be safe incase i had to drill, so if it comes down to it, ill just drill a couple holes. to bad it wont be as easy as the 99-04 ga's.

Well, looked where nice96 did his, and im off to inspect this spot. make sure i wont be drilling through any brake/fuel/electrical lines. then im off to getting power into my trunk.

does anyone know what size torx bolt that the seatbelts use. im gonna have to find one, because the biggest torx bit i have is like 3/8 (i think) and it is too small.

1. what are you running that your amps NEED 4ga wire? cause unless its a multi thousand dollar system, u dont need anything smaller than 8

either way... i just took a razor blade to the rubber boot in the fire wall for the steering column... just a big enough slit to get the wire thru... im not sure how ure gonna do it though beacuse of the v6, i dunno if u will have room like the amount i have w/ the 2.4

What kind of current are they pulling? :)

the sub amp is pulling 90 amps, and the componet amp is pulling 60.

The component amp should be good with 8 ga, but yeah, 90 amps is a little high. You could always get a cheap block that has at least three 8 ga outs... run one 8ga to the components amp, and two 8ga in parallel to the sub amp :)

oh well, i already have the wire in hand and paid for. so im just gonna use it. not to mention, with dual 4 gauge runs, i always have the ability to upgrade easilly.

UPDATE:

I am not usually a quiter and more of a do it your selfer, but I am a little intimidated by brake and fuel lines right on the other side of the firewall. So I am taking it to one of the local audio shops in town, and they said they'd drill the two holes for me for $10, which im just fine with, cause if they drill through a fuel line, then they can pay for it. I like that insurance. The guy was bein pretty cool about it and all, just have to get it their tommorow.

And once i get it from the battery and past the firewall, im 100% sure that I'll be fine. although, the guy i was talking to shared you alls thoughts on the dual 4 gauge runs, he said i'd probably be alright with one 4 gauge run and then blocking it off, although, he said that 2 4 gauge runs would be fine too.

okay, got all the powerlines and signal wires ran to the trunk, everything is taken care of except for the speaker wires running into the doors, but i have the speaker wire ran right to the door, just not into it yet, so no biggy. im waiting on componets anyway.

although, i am a little bit mad, i busted the little clip off of the trim on the driver side door, so there is only one retaining clip now, and it wont stay up, not to mention, it was already broke, which i noticed a few days ago. anyone know where to order the trim besides the dealer? I know that that piece of plastic will be an easy $50 if i cant fix it with some epoxy and jb weld...:D
