For next winter I want to switch to a narrower winter tire because this car is not good in quebec snow lol.
Everyone tells me that a narrow tire is better in snow and I would be better off to switch to a 15''

Right now I have 205/55/16 and was wondering what would be the specs if i went to a narrower 16'' or even a 15''
I want to keep the same overal diameter though

Switching to a 195/65R15 will keep your same overall diameter (0.1 inch in the difference) and will give you a much better bite in the snow/slush. If you want to stick with 16", a 185/60R16 would be the closest. I'd go for the 15" though. :thumbup2:

That is the size that I put on mine when I lived in Vancouver and had to drive the high mountain passes quite often. I put Toyo winter tires on it and had no problems - although I needed chains a few times to make it up the steeper climbs).

Oh ya, 195/70R14 will also fit I think.

Correct... Although you may have a hard time getting a 14" rim over the calipers. :)

thanks guys, I'm going to switch tires this fall or hopefully get a winter beater!

This car is horrible in the snow, even a light dusting

Hey Jay

I got my winter tires on both my cars at Atelier De Pneus Réal Chicoine Inc Phone: (514)626-7160 14380 Bd Pierrefonds, Pierrefonds, QC H9H 4R7

They had great knowledge. They also were very price competitive (and matched the lowest price and then also gave me 10 bucks extra off).
