this weekend I learned one of my friend's friends works at an audio bay. We stopped by and chatted for awhile. You should have seen his mustang that he's working on. '99 or so coupe with 3 15" alpines fiberglassed facing the driver. Kid is going to do deaf QUICK lol. But the best part is that he said he can get me anything 40% off. A type-x and alpine amp for about $500. I can sell my set up right now for about $200, so it's a real good possibility I'll make the switch :D . I want to get some dynamat first, then prolly do a bit of electrical so I can support the power. For $500 does anyone know of a better powered sub I could get?

What other brands can he get??? A freaking Alpine 12" Type-X with a 1000 watt amp is going to SLAM!!! I used to know a kid who had a 94' GPGT with that in a sealed box and I swear to christ my hair was on end and when he had the volume 3/4's of the way up, his glass on the doors and rear were FLEXING! I'm pretty sure he had it running off a MTX 8100D, but I'm not entirely sure if that's what amp he had... I haven't seen the kid in like 2 years... so...

He can get me anything that the shop sells. It's not a big shop though, that's kinda a let down. A bit of infinity and alpine is all that I saw. It would be amped at 1000 RMS and sure would be wild! I've done the big 3 (could use a better battery ground though) and have a little light dimming with 600 rms + speakers. Would a ho alt do the trick, second battery...or both?

that sub is pretty mean. i've heard a couple setups using them and they hum pretty good.

i'd be wary of selling my stuff just cause this guy SAID he can get you stuff. i've been in that boat before, someone tell me they can get me a deal, i sell my stuff, or saved my money, and then it all fell through. it sucks. so i'd ask your parents or something if you could borrow the money, then put the money in his face and see if the tune changes. if he can get it for that cheap that's great, but then if he says he cant for whatever reason you just give your parents back the money and you've still got your old system
