Okay, Okay. I know I was dogging on "imports" etc. I've slowly been growing to like imports. Infact, I'm growing to like all kinds of cars. But the import I want the most, just as a daily driver that could handle wannabe's at stock, the acura 3.2L. It's acceleration is crazy.
But I found a 1989 Acura Legend V6, 5-spd for sale for about $2000-3000. It's gone now but I was almost attempted to buy after looking at the specs. Sure, legends weigh more than integra's, but not by much...and they do have a lot more horsepower and torque than those integra's...
Question is, does anyone know of any good import cars for cheap? Like, my GAGT price range. I'm open to suggestions but there are a few imports you'll never see me in.

depends on which one... 92-95 1-2K
96-98 1-4K
99-03 4-9K
04-05 5-12K
I think I went a bit high on the 04/05 models, but Im sure someone bought one for that much.

Technically the Acura's I like are not imports. Their history is imports with Honda, but now Acura is classified under North American by some of the places I've seen. It may be lame, but Forza Motorsports claims them as North American, not japanese. It's pretty much the only reason I like acura.
I hate to admit it, but they're pretty dependable, and there's only a few Acura's I like. I'd take the 3.2L anyday though, I may be going off on a limb, but they look like an Acura version of the Thunderbird.
Acura is not sold in Japan. In Japan, it's a Honda RSX, not an Acura RSX, and so on. I think Acuras are only sold in the US, Canada, and Mexico. That's why it's classified as North America.. But it is owned and operated by Honda.

Yes, acuras are only sold in NA; however their parts are all japanese (or atleast mostly, from what I know)
Acura are a good brand of cars, my father swore bythem for years until he totalled his 97 2.2CL and now he drives a saturn :(
Id love an RSX if it had torque, Im sorry but 200hp and a nice interior don't make up for its massive shortcomings in my mind, that and price - the ricer craze is driving their stickers around here sky high. However, Ive always been impartial to Imports - I just dont like a lot of the drivers of imports.
Ive been looking at mitsu eclipses (the 6cyl GT or GTS), Mazda RX8, Miatas, honda s2k, subaru WRX, lancer evolution VIII, and a few others. There are ncie imports out there, however demand and the ricer-fad ar emaking them a bi tmore expensive than Id like...
In comparison there are only a few select domestics that pique my interest as of now: the Solstice of course, s/c cobalt (which is gaining ricer popularity Im afraid to say), the srt neon, g6 gtp coupe, and the new stratus.
If you like torque, don't get an RX8 or S2000 :)
I dunno. I can see why the low torque rating is discouraging, but the RSX can get up and going pretty quickly regardless, and it's a joy in the twisties, especially for a FWD car. Same with the RX8 and S2000. I don't think they have the neck-wrenching torque of some cars, but there's more to driving a car than straight line acceleration.
The new Eclipses are too heavy and FWD only, and suffer from bad torque steer. The Ralliart Eclipse concept looked AWESOME, though. 2G Eclipses were the best :(
Evo 8's are very, very nice driver's cars, but I'm leery of their reliability. Read up on EvoM; lots of people tend to have problems with the front diff and the clutch and other little bits. WRX's have their own idiosyncracies, including trannies that won't stand up to ham-fisted drivers and thin paint.
The SRT-4 is damned fast, but it seemed a bit too bare-bones for me . They are quick and can be made ven quicker for just a few bucks more. But they are phasing them out; I wonder how parts, etc, will be in a few years. The new Caliber SRT-4 looks badass, though, too.
Still, test drive them all and see what you like! Add one more to your list - 350Z. It doesn't feel quick, but when you look down and realize you're cruising at 80mph instead of 40mph.... :)
As far as drivers of imports.. meh. I wish people wouldn't stereotype. There are some very cool ones, there are some idiots. There are some idiot domestic drivers, and some cool ones, too. If you get into, say, Subarus, the owners seem to be more mature. Hint: Find a board that doesn't have a "Kills" subforum, and you'll probably do ok.

Acura is a subdivision of American Honda Motor Company....
You had mentioned the Acura 3.2L, there is no such model, i will assume you meant the 3.2TL or 3.2CL. The 3.2L engine didnt come about until 1999. You dont stand a chance of purchashing a 99 acura for the price of a 94 gagt. Unless of course it is beat, wrecked, or stolend.
One more thing...No way in hell does ANY acura look like any model year thunderbird lol.

I never said anything about buying the 3.2L Acuras, and I figured someone wouldn't have enough sarcasm, or possess common sense to see it and register it as the 3.2TL/3.2CL.
What I did say was about the 1989 Acura Legend V6 5-Speed. It was $2,000 needed new taillights body wise and the paint was a little faded but the engine was good and the tranny. I wanted it...but couldn't get it because of this P.O.S. I have.
However I did say I'd like to have one of the 3.2TL/CL's.

Use imagination, stare, compare. They don't look exactly alike, infact her sister car doesn't even look exactly alike ( the Mercury Cougar ), but use imagination and maybe you can see that I said:
"They look like an Acura version of the Thunderbird."
I'm not the only one I know that agrees.

I find your username and the threads subject tag to be a complete contradiction.
