ive searched this and have found out how to disable the drls and alcs and still have them chime when u leave them on and take the keys out...all the other forums ive read said that it wouldnt chime to remind you to turn them off...but ive found a way to make them chime...if this is already in a post that i didnt read then just get a mod to deletet his thread......anyway after grounding the blue wire to disable the drl and cutting the two wires for the alc....take the two ends(not the blue one) that are still attached to the BCM and splice them together and taper them up real good....everything has been working fine for me with no SVS light and still chimes when i take the keys out...oh yeah, i have a 99 grand am V6, dont know which other years this will work for but from reading id say just 99-00...

Cool ! I did the mod on my '00 also, and all is fine without any svs or ses lights. I'm trying to remember if my chimes work, lol... I must be getting those "pre senior" moments, lol... But I think my chimes do function like yours.... Next time I'm out at my car I'll check and post back here....I'm curious now.....

Isn't cool to finally have full control of all your lights???? That is the best mod I did on my car....because those drl's ansd alc was buggin' me bigtime.

But now I can cruise around with just my running lights, or fogs.... whatever I want. And the best part is that my (expensive) Sylvania SilverStars wont burn out prematurely from running them at half-brightness or having that annoying alc turn on the headlights to full brightness just because I happen to be driving into a dense shade area.... Oh man, that used to bug me !

Happy ending story though.... now I control my lights.... not G.M. or Pontiac. (I think the mod might be illegal for our friends up in Canada...not sure though).

Pig in mud ? Hmmm.... Let's see.... I'm from New England, so I guess " I'm as happy as a clam at high tide ", lol !
Yup, it so nice to control the lights.... While doing that mod, I found the hardest part for me was to see the tiny thin wire colors coming out of the BCM; the damn wires are so thin..... I guess the eyes aren't quite as good as when I was 18, lol.... I had to go in the house and find a bright flashlight.
