This is a home made idea, im thinking of trying it, do you guys think it will work??
ok first you get the pool cleaning tubes from a supple store (they are about 4 inches wide) and find a cone filter to fit it. take your air box off and clamp on the tube and since its flexable fit it around to where it sucks in cold air, and clamp on a filter...
Anyone thing that will work?

I really think it will work, you may have to make a heat shild though

you'll have to find some sort of setdown from 4" to 3" since the maf is only3". thats going to be the hard part. plus is the poll tubing plastic??? if it is it will get hot along with the engine making the air hot. you'll have to have some sort of heat sheild to help out.

you can buy heat shielding from summit racing. you can also buy the tubing from them to make a custom cai.

where would the CAI go? I have heard to move the airbox down into the fender area and stuff like that but i have no clue at all. I just got my job and get paid today so I will have some money to do some upgrading. Any Ideas?

I heard before plastic is very bad to use for intake tubing, reason why ........ when the plastic heats up some sort of toxic fumes are made and enters into the engine which is obviously not good and does harm to the internals.

I could see it being an issue if the plastic were actually melting, but the intake shouldn't get near that hot. Keep in mind too that the factory intake uses a rubber bellows.
I'd say you'd be OK with a plastic intake, as long as you don't run it too close to the exhaust manifold. :)

Now that I actually sit and think, it was PVC pipes that did that. It was posted a long time ago when GMP used to be good site

PVC piping, the tubing that is widely used,is made with a chloric acid, when burned, puts out toxic fumes and can be bad for your health.Learned that in networking class, they don't uses that piping incase of fires.Id rather use aluminum, disapates heat better.Just buy a 180 degree pipe from JC Whitney for like 17-20 bucks, its 3'' wide:)

I had a cold air intake on my GA along time ago. If you want, I have pictures of it when it was installed chris, I will give them too yah so you can get a real CAI design.
I simply bought 1 civic intake. Universal. Has a long straight pipe with roughly close to a 90 bend. You cut the pipe right near the bend, leave a little strait piece from the elbow. You take the completely straight piece left and use that to run a pipe from the TB to the maf. You are only going to need a little piece of the left over straight intake pipe. Then you run a 90 elbow directly from the maf to wrap around the battery. THen you get the other elbow piece from the intake hook it up to the elbow and the bend will go down right in the hole behind your battery. Take off the shroud on your wheel well and connect your filter. Bam you have a CAI. You simply drilla small hole in the 90 degree elbow piece to fit your sensor. Bam the boots and elbow will run you roughly $20-30 if you get nice colored hi quality boots. The intake you can get from versus for like $40 or $50 w/filter.

Well, I have a couple dollars, some time on my hands, and some warm weather around the corner.
I need suggestions for the 3.4L V6. Does anyone know if they are pre-made? Or are they all jury-rigged?

You can buy one from APOC or FDP....easy to install with no cutting. Or you can make one out of a Honda CAI from Autozone.
I made my own out of a 3" Hooker Mandrel Bend J pipe. Actually if you cut at the middle of the J you get two 90 degree bends. A 90 degree bend will fit in our wheel well with no cutting. Get some 3" couplers and a K&N filter and you're in business. You can check out my N-Body site...a pic of it is up there.
I'm not finished with it yet, I still have to paint it and I'm putting the extra piece that was left over between the throttle body and the MAF. Once it's done it'll basicall be the same as a APOC at half the cost.

Ok, so what is the web addresses for apoc or fdp?
How difficult would it be to convert the Honda CAI?
You got any pics of your install?

Here's APOC....he sells both his and FDP's

The Honda thing....never did it, but you have to cut in your fender well...... Personally....I wouldn't do it.
As far as mine.....look at my n-body page link at the bottom of this post....it's on there.......but I'm adding a piece between the throttle body and the MAF, painting it black and going to yellow couplers....

when i did the honda cai, i got it from the n-body tech center. fortunately, i didn't have to do any cutting. the instructions there are really good, and step by step with pictures.
