For $12 (3 cans @ $4) and 4 hours of work I was able to cut both the road noise and have better acoustics. With 2 alpine 10"type-s's in the back I was beginning to hear more and more rattling. I picked up some Dupli-Color undercoat. I've heard 3M has a very similar product. http://img306.imageshack.us/img306/4829/dupi2dq.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
I hit the top of the rear deck, trunk lid, and trunk. It is very simple and the only pain is prep.
Strip the rear deck to metal

seeing as it is spray paint I didn't take any chances on it getting anywhere else. I didn't notice it getting on any of the material I laid out but I wouldn't have taken any chances. I also covered the ceiling after I took the pic

there are holes in the rear deck and I hadn't planned on painting the trunk I patched those too. It might be easier to just remove the carpet.

after 2 coats it ended up looking like this. At this point in the pic I had started putting pieces back in

after that I folded the trunk carpet over and took off the lid taking care to cover up again

then I took on the lid

make sure to cover anything you don't want painted

put the lid back on after half an hour or so of drying and your set. Anyone planning on keeping the trunk as is might want to spring for a can of protectant/sealer. I'm planning on having it covered with Raamamt so the gloss isn't a problem.

These instructions aren't exactly step by step but if you use your common sense then you'll be fine. As for sound wise I cut down very noticably on road noise and rattle for my subs, although I did not re-install my 6x9's so that too I am sure plays a role.

here is a link to my photo album containing more and bigger pics of the day. These 4 hours made a big enough difference for me to recommend, and more than likely if I have enough time next weekend I will be doing the cabin floor
