I dunno where the thread went unless I forgot to post it  but anyways, the annual Carlisle GM Nationals show is June 23rd-25th this year. We normally get a pretty big group going, make it a weekend, plenty of cars to see and partying to do at night. definitely do not want to miss this show!
Here's the official home page
http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/gm/index.asp
We're trying to square away the hotel info this week .. if you are definitely coming, post up if you need in on the hotel. We are most likely staying at the hampton inn in Mechanicsburg again.
Grand Am's have their own class.. last year there were about 10, some years as many as 15-20.

Do we know if somone has a tent this year? And Anyone know whattime the gates open and your allowed on the show field on Saturday?
Matt95GT

Nobody I know of has one of those EZ-up tents (since Pucci moved to TX). I'm bringing my camping screen-room tent... which is actually fairly large. Not exactly "EZ" but shouldn't be too bad to setup with a bunch of us there.
Not sure about the show time.

I was pumped about this show, but woke up a few hours after my last post only to be greated by terential downpurs and thunder! So...the car unfortunately had tostay in the garage. I'm sure I would have made it a few miles before it drowned on the highway but , from the looks of the show I wasn't the only one who was scared off by the weather forecast. Anyway I did see a few picture worthy rides....even a few GA's! They all lookedgreat guys and girl. :) When I made it over to our area I was coming over to say whats up, but the tent was empty!
Anyway...here come the pics...

lol suuuuuuurrre I bet y'all missed me. As you can see I didn't see you guys either in the background of the first GA pic. The tent was empty except for some older guy...no clue who he was so I stayed away. haha
What were the results?
PontiacGA
06-26-2006, 03:36 AM
Chevelle 'concept'? All they did was take a crappy GTO and change the front and back for looks. Now the Camaro concept was sweet.

old guy may have been mike....j/k bro. We were there most of the day. Must have just missed us. Erika got first, the blue bagged GA got second, and I think that orange one with gold painted drums and calipers got third. Me=nothing

Oh, I didn't even realize you went. Judging by the location of my grill and bucket, I'd say that was earlier in the day. I bet that was when we were scoping out the cheap tool dude vendor tent... Erika's dad hung out at our tent... prolly who that was. The weather wasn't as bad as it seemed... Saturday cleared up nicely as the day went on.

Oh, the "Inciner8r." They had it there in 2004 IIRC too. Actually those are 8 tiny turbos. It was in a tent idling that year... it would cook the hair off your arm if you got too close to it.

I don't really think it was meant to be a concept... and it was done privately. When I saw it last time, I didn't see them reference Chevelle at all... just a GTO with some old school custom work.
nineteen88ga
06-26-2006, 10:08 AM
I cold have sword I saw a sign infront of that 57 that said it was SC. I thought it was odd because they're obviously Turbos, but either way..its still cool.
That "chevelle" wasn't a GM concept. Like Matt said it was privately done. Still pretty cool too see what it would probably look like if GM decided to make it..because I'd bet they're have the same idea...rebody/rebadge A GTO and call it a day. The nicest feature were the wheels. They were old school chevy wheels, in a larger diameter.
The exterior of the camero and underhood was cool, the inerior didn't come off as too Camero-ish. To humpy and bubbly. If it makes it to production I hope that changes.
Congrats to Erica for taking 1st! I don't think I've ever seen the other winners on here or on GAGT.com, so they don't get a congrats. lol :P

I was thinking that, but I was in my tent with the dudes with the orange GA beside me.
I'm suprised the orange GA won if he did. he wasnt parked in the 'winning' area.

The redone GTO and the 8 turbo car, have been there for years... they were calling the chevelle the HRSS, both privately done. it has a 454 in it ... sounds pretty nice, check out my 2004 pics for pics of it hehe
