Ok I made a post a couple days ago about a noise coming from the car. At first I didnt think it was brake related, but now im beginning to think it is. Its kind of a whirring, whining noise that you can really hear at low speeds (lower than 30), and I think I can hear something at speeds above that.
Heres the kicker...in the last couple months I have replaced both front rotors, calipers, pads, and a drivers side wheel bearing. One thing I did notice when I replaced the calipers is (and tell me if this coule be the cause) that on one of the caliper mounting brackets (which house the slide pins), one of the bolts wouldnt torque in completely tight...it might be stripped. Its not loose, but its not tight either.
What do y'all think? The mounting brackets? Other wheel bearing?

Edit- applying brakes, and shifting into neutral doesnt change anything)

Those slide bolts are incredibly important parts of this style of disc brakes.
They are the hardest steel on the vehicle, and they can easily strip the iron.
If it isn't rock-tight, then it's loose.
If it's loose, it can't possibly keep the caliper sliding smoothly. A cocked caliper can allow a pad or other part to drag upon the rotor, creating a whirring or other sound.

You can buy a replacement mount, or you can 'helicoil' the stripped hole.
Personally I wouldn't helicoil this important part, I'd get a new one.
And maybe a couple new slide bolts, about $12 each since they are of such special high-strength steel.

About 20 years ago, I had the front brakes done by a reputable shop.
Five miles from the shop, wham-BAM!-screech!!!
The numbnuts hadn't tightened ANY of the slide bolts, and one of the right-side ones had backed itself out. The caliper cocked itself loose and jammed against the rim!!
No permanent damage, but boy was I pissed.

Anywho, get that slide bolt condition fixed, and mebbe the annoying sound will disappear too.

Good luck.
