how many times is washing yoru car too much? i wash my car practically every week and my dad keeps telling me i continue to do that the paint will come off.. im just wondering how much is too much?

how many times is washing yoru car too much? i wash my car practically every week and my dad keeps telling me i continue to do that the paint will come off.. im just wondering how much is too much? hell during the winter i was washing my car 2-3 times a week. i haven't washed my car in almost 2 weeks. its kiling me. thats ok though because i've set the whole day aside tomorrow... actually i guess thats technically today... to wash , polish, and wax my car as well as detail my engine and clean my seats and carpets. can't wait. anyhow i don't think you could really wash your car too much and have the paint start to chip unless you're not washing it correctly or taking proper care of the paint. thats just my opinion though. i could be wrong.

I agree I dont really believe in washing a car too much. I can understand if you wax a car too much it can lead to too much wax buildup and then dirt gets caught in it. But then you can just use a clay bar and that will take the old wax off or paint cleaner that will do it too

... I can't really answer that as I only washed my car twice last summer :wink4: ... I love my garage :evil2:

Exactly my problem. With a black car it shows. How do you "light wash" it?

No real scrubbing, just lightly go over it with car wash detergent and water to get the dust off. Light as opposed to heavy, if there was dirt up the sides and i had to scrub it.
