Hey guys,
I need to replace my window regulator on my 2002 GAGT coupe. I really don't want to spend like $200 for it. I was searching Ebay and I am coming across some on there for like $60. Are these any good? I am leaning towards one of these, but I don't want to buy one if they are crap and pay my mechanic $100 to put it in, only to have to buy another regulator and lose the $100 on the labor. Have any of you tried the ebay ones? If so, how are they compared to the OEM ones? I can't really imagine that they would be any worse then the OEM ones, haha. Well, if someone could just let me know before I buy one, that would be great!
Thanks,
Jeff

Also, does anyone know the best place to get this installed? OR, is there anyone on this board that lives in the Illinois area that would be interested in making some extra money? I live 50 miles north of Chicago, by Gurnee, IL. I was thinking maybe a body shop. My local mechanic does it, but i'm not sure if I trust them, I don't want them breaking something on my door panel. What do you all suggest?
Thanks Much,
Jeff

I've replaced both sides with some regs that I got on ebay from a store called "Arizona" somthing. They were about $60 a piece also. Anyway, they didn't last a year. Maybe 9 months and both eventually crapped out. So if you are going to getem, consider it a temporary fix. I know the OEM's are expensive as hell, but if you are going to spend the $60, plus pay someone to install it, you are better off suffering for a while and put away the $300+ and get the OEM. I've went with my windows inop for a couple of years, had the joy of fresh air for almost a year, and now no windows again!! You get used to it though. Just sucks for the late night drive thru at Jack n tha Box. At any rate, don't expect them to last. You get what you pay for...

Anyone else have any experience with aftermarket ones? I may just go get an OEM one and deal with the price...

keep buying the cheap one's and i'll put them in for a $100. just joking, oem are better. $100 seem's high though. it only take's a half hour to install.

Bummer, I need two, guess I'll be stopping by my friendly neighborhood GM dealer. How much am I looking to spend with or without labour approx?

Just get a used one at an auto scrap yard. Condensation kills these things. you can replace yourself easily by removing door panel - do not forget to unscrew the 2 hidden panel screws in door handle rests.
Cheers
