Bass fades n and out

At first i thought it was my portable cd hook up, but when i tuned to the radio it does it as well, 1 of the speakers is blown could that be a problem? Its like the bass reacts to my RPM's lol my battery gauge checks out fine, could it be my alternator, i just need my music ha ha.

What year is your car?
Mine doesn't do it, but I know some of the newer GM cars have a feature that increases the sound as road noise increases, thus also decreasing as you slow down.

That option isnt on GA's. It sounds like an alternator. Give your car more gas and you've got more power output, thus more power to your light's, and speakers. Try swapping the battery. My battery is fine, but i still need a new one cuz it does that.

Is this with a factory stereo or aftermarket amplifiers, etc.?

If it is a factory stereo and it is doing that, I'd suspect the alternator or battery. Have your eletrical system checked (a lot of places will do a quick battery load check and alternator output check for free) and go from there.

that wont do anything. I had mine checked and they were all like "Oh yeah, its fine." and that didnt solve anything. If its all factory and no extra load on the electrical system, then its your battery. But it'd be best to check the alternator aswell, just incase.

SCV (Speed Controlled Volume) is a feature included with the Monsoon systems in 2001-2005 Grand Ams. If you have the Monsoon stereo, you have the Speed Controlled Volume. The faster you drive, the louder the volume gets. Slow down, the volume goes down. The fueture is defeatable, and adjustable.

errm... it is? Its not noticable then? Maybe I'm just deaf? Wait... I know it occassionally gets a bit louder (but not much) when you're driving around 80... but it just goes back to normal? I donno

All it does is try to make up for the additional tire/wind/road noise that occurs when you go faster. It is made so you don't notice it.
