View Full Version : How-To Adjust Headlights

To adjust the headlights you'll need a Torx socket. There are 2 torx screws that you have to adjust. The one closest to the middle adjusts the vertical movement. The one closest to the fender adjusts the horizontal movement.
Park you're car extactly 25 feet from the car to the wall, and on level ground.
Now find out where the exact center of your car is and tape it on the wall & ground to make sure you're centered. You might aswell tape it when you're a few inches from the wall. Also tape the center line of where you're headlights are. (Should make an "X" on the wall at each headlight side.) The car should have about a half tank of gas and no heavy load on the car to make sure its perfect.
Beginning with your low beams, adjust the lights so the "high intensity area" is 2 inches below the horizonal line, and two inches to the right of the vertical line.
Now for the high beams on, the "high intensity area" should be centered on the "X" area on the wall.
And sometimes you cant get the high and low beams perfectly aligned, but you use the low beams more than high beams, so if you must, get the low beam perfect rather than high beams.
Good luck!

I e-mailed AutoDynasty numerous times to ask them whether or not their assemblies come with the adjusters. Three times I was told "I am sorry, I cannot help you". It appeared like they were maybe from another country because of the broken English.
Of course, I'm not knocking them or their product; as I don't know anything about their lights.....
I finally bought brand new G.M. assemblies so I at least knew what I was getting. Plus I also read on another forum that some people were getting a "rainbow or halo" effect on the shiny reflector part of the assemblies after exposing the headlights to direct sunlight after a few months. So I bit the bullet and got G.M. ones.....
Admittedly, I do like the look of their clear (reflector) assemblies, but with the price of them I didn't want to take the chance of having the "rainbows" like other's are getting. So, I've got the damn amber reflector here, but at least they will hopefully last a bit.....plus I caulked the hell outta the seam too with G.E. Silicone sealant. I think I could maybe submerge 'em now, lol !!!

lmao. Underwater headlight assemblies? Hey tommy, why not do the reflector overlay? I've got a template that Kelly hasnt put up on the GAOC site yet. Just go to a sign shop and ask to buy about a foot and a half of vinyl, and they'll ask what color (white obviously) and then trace the template on the back and use a utility knife to cut :) Says it in my instructions :)

Yes they do. The problem is when you adjust them as high as they go they are still hitting the ground about 10 feet from the car. On gagt.com people are switching the stock aimers for the aimers that came with the headlights and that seems to be the fix. I havent done it yet but im going to real soon. My GA isnt a daily driver so im not trying to fix it quickly lol

yes grandamgt.com.
I dont wanna bash this site but when it comes to mods and techinical things thats the site to be hangin around on. I highly recomend using the search button first, if you dont you will get warning points and your thread locked. Other than that you will REALLY enjoy the info to be had there.
Very good how-to's also!!

You are always welcomes to post any HOW-TOs and information here you know?! ... I don't consider we lack in any specific details compared to GAGT.com but then again, I don't appreciate the atmosphere over there nor the attitude had most some of its regulars so I choose to stick here ... personally, I believe the two sites are very similar in the contant they have being we have many mutal members but it does seems like people tend to post certain things over there while others post things here ... now, if things were a perfect world, they would post the details on both sites as that way, everyone would benefit ... site preference is a personal :)

you install those overlays when the assemblies are out of the car :p you have to remove the rubber surround. :) its really easy when you do it inside :D
