I tried doing a few searches for this but didn't find anything so I appogize ahead of time if this has been discussed before....

My issue is with my rear window. On the back of my rear window towards the top maybe 4 inches of the window I have a solid black film or something that was over the window. My problem is this film/paint or whatever is on the window is starting to flake off. It comes off in small bits creating little holes all over the back of the window that really stick out since my windows are tinted and its the only light coming in.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?? Its really starting to make me sad seeing these type of problems crop up as my car starts to age. Car is starting to get old but I don't want to get rid of it until I really have to.

Just an update I figured out what it was. I finally pulled up to another Grand Am in a parking lot to look at its back windows and figured out what was going on. From the factory the Grand Am has some crap pre-put on the window. I guess its just some form of decoration these dots/misc artifacts on the top of the window. I believe it was similiar in color to the window defroster lines....

Anyway the Tint shop could not put tint over all those things so they paint over that portion of the window. When I called they immediatly knew what I was talking about and offered to repaint it no charge under warranty. While in I had them tint my front passenger windows now that the laws have changed in Missouri and allow for 35% on them. (Back in 98 MO laws did not allow any tint on front side windows). So now my rear window tint looks great again and its good to finally have my side windows done.
