Pics From the Shop (56k go fix world hunger)

Well, the most recent news is that they body shop is waiting for the back right frame piece to get shipped out to them, once they've welded that, they're going to do all the frame pulls. They've got to fix the trunk gap, hood gap, and they're hoping for the most part it will pop the dent in the quater panel out, and then they'll just use some body filler and sanding. He said that all the frame should be done in a week from today. Then they've got to do all the body work and paint prep, which I know will take a couple days. Then they've gotta paint it. They've already painted the underside of the hood, that's why it looks different.

BTW, all the hoses in the front with blue tape on them are the air lines for the train horn lol. I wanted to cover them before it went into the dusty body shop lol.

it looks like he got the PFYC hood. I think it looks more aggressive than the stock SC/T hood. I want one so bad!

Well today my dad, grand father, and I all went down to the shop to check the progress of the car. Since last time they had: put the front bumper back on, they'd checked the fitment of the hood/body kit, put the hood on, and a lot of other little things. It sounds like the hood needs minimal cosemetic work and then they can move it to paint. They'd done almost all the fram work, except, he wants to pull it a little more, but first he wants to make a way to mount to the frame a little better.

The good news is they said that there should have no problem getting it done by my graduation. I'm really excited to get the car back.

While we were there, I decided on an idea for the stripe, I'm going to do two solid stripes, with little pin stripes outlinin both sides of each stripe (see pic for better details.)

Kyle... Man, I gotta get one of those hoods too. Where did you order it from ? Was it from PFYC ? And when you said it might minimal cosmetic work, do the hoods all need some fine-tuning when you recieve them?
If anyone bought one and could lend any info, I'd be mighty appreciative !!

Hey Tommy, yes I ordered it from PFYC. The problem with the hoods is, the mold they're made from. I'm fairly sure most will come with minimal flaws, however, ontop of those, mine had an additional scratch on the top from the place I picked it up from.

Excellent Kyle; thanks very much. That is the best looking SCT hood I've seen yet; looks much more agressive. I definitely want one of those bad boys for my GT1.
I'll have to start saving some coin... might take me some time but someday I'll hopefully have it.

Do they arrive in sturdy crates? Just wondering... I'd have to have a body shop fit / paint it up for me. I hope they can match the Pontiac Arctic White color...

Thanks Tommy, I actually got a call from the place saying that they were in Titusville which is about an hour East of my house so I just took my dad's truck and picked it up, it didn't come in any sort of a box when I picked it up.

I love the looks of that hood, Kyle... It looks meaner / bolder than the Pontiac one. It looks like the scoop parts are (taller) or bigger too... Man, I gotta get one !!!!

Kyle I think that stripe would look great, and I think all stripes MUST have a pinstripe around teh edge or they look unfinished and cheep.

On a silver car I personally would do a dark grey stripe, or even a red one. Not that black is bad, actually I think it looks great, but thats just my opinion. :)

BTW, I think the PFYC hood better than the GM ones too. :D
