A ? about Avatars

Been trying to do this custom avatar and it keeps saying "not a valid GIF or JPG file" or whatever. What does that mean? and where do I have to go to get a file that works? Thanks

Maximum Custom Avatar dimensions are 150x150 pixels and 25kb. If you need help, you can email the image to webmaster@gaownersclub.com along with your GAOC username, and I'll set it up for you.
