Just had the Radiator redone and the overheating problem is back. I had the system pressure tested and it's holding pressure very well, No external leaks, new overflow cap, thermostat is ok.
I did notice that there was alittle smoke coming from the tailpipe, but it went away after a few minutes, oil level is fine, not milky, I did notice when I was driving it that the coolant gauge would go down when I was driving over 55 mph, but when I would slow down, the gauge started climbing again, maybe the temperature sending unit????? Would it be fesible to put a V6 instead of this damn 2.3???? Please help,,,,,,,just about ready to torch this car.

did you make sure that the coolant system was bled of all air? something as simple as an air pocket can cause exactly what you are talking about. Id try that first, then move on to the temp sending unit. An engine swap like youre talking about would not be a very simple task.. Think moving engine mounts, making sure the trans will bolt up, the wiring harness cant be the same I'd think.... You're better off fixing the quad, or getting a different car. Theres also nothing wrong with it being a quad. Quads have no more problems than any other engine out there.

Your symtoms sound more like a cooling fan issue. At highway speeds the air is forced through the radiatior, in traffic the fans won't pull air through. Run the engine till it gets hot and check to see if the fan comes on. If not, could be a fuse, sensor, relay of bad fan motor.

I guess there are not many people that know how to fill the cooling system for the Quad's. It is a very bad design.
And it could be the fan not working. Like Heydace said.

The fan does work,,,,,but it kicks on around 225 degrees, i'm still thinking that maybe it's the sensor giving me all the problems. My daughter called me this morning and told me it didn't even get around 220 at all,,,,,,,but it was alittle cool this morning.
