i was looking at a 1990 grand am at a lot today, i saw a five speed and was wondering if it has a quad4 HO
the beginning of the VIN is 1g2ne14uv

I don't think so. Someone maybe able to correct me on this but i think ALL ho engines the 8th digit was an A. I could be wrong though. And if someone could verify/correct my answer that would be great.

thats not right, i think your vin is wrong. The quad 4 Vin numbers are as follows. 16V DOHC LO-(VIN D), SOHC-(VIN 3). 16V DOHC HO-(VIN A). That vin you have is wrong. eityher that or it is a tech 4, or the 2.0 maybe. but i dont know that vin's to those motors, only the Quad 4 i know...

Yeah.. thats no Quad Vin# Its a 2.5 Tech4 VIN

a 2.5 standard now that would be fun, imagine how bad i could beat on that. hahah,
VIN A = QUAD HO
VIN D = QUAD lo
VIN 3 = slooooooooowww Over head cam
VIN R = 2.5 tech 4
VIN U = 2.5 tech 4 not sure of the change but the vin R engines were found in the R ear wheel drive fieros as well. most Ga's have vin u. if a 2.5
