Faintly. I remember someone asking, just couldn't remember who it was. But I coudn't remember the site that kept the history, until Don posted that link in the jackstands thread.

I still find it hard to believe that I've been around here for 7 years...
The old Yahoo site was poorly setup as a forum (not your fault of course, Shawn), but it sure did work! I remember how quickly that grew, and I also remember feeling concerned that the move to gapower.net's server would reduce the membership. 15,000 members later, I guess my concerns were unwarranted. ;)

Brad, I had those same concerns. But looking back it's funny. I remember being very excited when we got more than 20 posts per day. Now we get hundreds daily. Back then 10 members on was amazing. Now we get over a hundred at a time.
But I agree, the Yahoo! format sucked. No search, no catagories, and threads weren't linked together. Oh, and no images in the posts. Yuck!

I remember rushing home form class when the new board went up so I could re-signup and have a low user number!

Very cool history lesson Shawn.
I have to ask a question. Why did you/Kelly choose VB...over Invision?
The latest version of Invision is much easier to mod, it has far more hacks, and is a whole lot more user friendly? Even custom skins are easy modify.
No offense intended. Just wondering?
Back on topic....I can't believe you guys came this far in such a short period of time.
Coming from a former webmaster..... I have to congratulate you. This kind of success is rare.
You deserve huge props. Congrats GAOC.
Congrats Kelly and Shawn. Good job guys. Keep it up.

... originally, one reason was that vB was much more stable than anything else and we have simply stuck with it ... I actually prefer vB over most other forum software I have used :)
