Okay, I just got my DHP PCM thru PFYC, Thing is i also have Dr.Speed Stage 3 CAI coming, and a Granatelli MAF sensor as well... Dr.Speed said the CAI is backordered right now, my question is, should i wait until i get the MAF sensor and CAI in and installed to put the DHP PCM in? Basiclly the DHP PCM is tuned for the mod's and i know i wont see any gains with out the mod's installed really, but if i install the PCM now and add the mods on in the coming weeks will the PCM adjust to them or is it a one time learn for all mods? Reason i mainly ask is to get it done so i can ship my core back out.

i thought someone on here put one in without having any mods and said the butt dnyo had more power just with the dhp installed...
i think i would wait... although it if were me... i would do one at a time to see what the difference is after each mod...

Thanks for the advice, so i can install the PCM now, and add the mods on one by one and have the PCM adjust the settings? I think what im asking is does the PCM learn or adjust, or are the settings static. As in if i install it now with stock intake, will it be locked in to the performance setting of stock? Or does the PCM apply the enchancments regardless of whats installed and you just dont see the diffrence? I just dont wanna install it and have the PCM locked in to the current setup is all...

Your PCM will not be locked into a current setup. A PCM is constantly adjusting based on conditions. In fact, everytime you unhook the battery for more than 10-15 minutes your pcm resets itself and has to relearn all of its settings.. go ahead and install it, lol:)

yea the new ECM is just like the stock one in which it adjusts for differences. It actually should one of the first mods you should do if you can afford it. It will actually allow the stock motor to perform better. Then once you start adding mods it'll adjust even more. Plus the DHP one has other things programed in like raised the fuel cut off, instead of like 120mph it might up to like 150mph or so(not sure, just saying thats raised)

Awesome, does anyone know about or done the performance shift switch mod, its described in the DHP instructions but its kind of unclear, ill go ahead and order the GTP shifter if i can get better instructions on wiring it up... I didnt wanna start a new thread so hopefully someone will respond. Also what benift does the CASE learn provide? I can do the Crankcase learn and of course seurirty relearn, and my brother inlaw knows someone up at the pontiac dealer so hes going to bring the GM TECH II home to do it for me, but what does that do?

Case learn is good to have because your computer doesnt know where the cam shaft is after you unplug your computer. You dont HAVE to have it done. it good to have though. oh and i have DHP without a CAI

You dont need the Granatelli MAF sensor if you have DHP either.

It can be done, but you need to have DHP set in the Perf. Shift program and some way to tell when its off or on, like a lighted toggle switch. The GP shifter will work, but there is nothing to tell you if its on or off, well besides the way it shifts obviously.
I was going to do it, its already coded in the GA PCM, but you just need DHP/Powertuner to turn it on. You will also have to find which Pin out it is in the PCM aswell, this is posted on Clubgp and is pretty easy to find.
The only reason why I didn't do it is because I can't set my trans pressure any higher without it not liking it.

H.O. Thanks for replying man... Ill check out ClubGP.
I just installed my new PCM, BUT im hitting redline on normal shifts (automatic) the fans arent staying on @ 200 and it didnt take a security relearn to crank. Talking to Kevin from PFYC to see if i was sent the right PCM, AGHHHH. This sucks.

Are the fans staying on after you shut the car off?

GTP's have that botton, when its push in the peformance shift is on. that how u could know its on. Or u can run it off the traction control light..

Nope... Kevin had me pull it back out to take a pic so DHP can verify the serials or something (i just yanked it far enough down to snap a pic) they are trying to make sure they sent me the right one... car runs though, would it with the wrong one? :???:

No.. another way to find out is to check the speed limiter

It shouldn't need to learn anything...if it's Bouncing off the rev limiter and you have in it Drive...there's something wrong.
You should just be able to plug it in and go.
